In one of the latest vids posted on RacerX there is some great slow mo footage. It shows James and Malcolm railing a berm with their outside leg raised off the peg. It appears they use that leg to kind of squeeze the bike. This is the first I've ever really noticed that technique. I always thought it was feet weighting the outside peg. Maybe Gary Semics and you guys can elaborate on it. Or explain some of your techniques when railing a berm.

What P said.

Its their foot on the back brake, in Mookies case in the berm shot its his foot going from the back brake to the peg.

Ahh yes. I get so used to watching guys ride at speed. And they usually just show inside views of guys cornering on TV. I miss the subtle things. Thanks.

Very good point,

Another thing i have noticed is some riders in 180 corners never stick their leg out, Especially AC46. Ive always been taught leg comes out when you go from standing up to seat position in one motion.

Anyone notice how Kroc is seated in middle of his seat while cornering? Compared to guys like stewart, Brayton, dungey and even villopoto (when he's not steering with his rear wheel) He must have excellent throttle control, for that big 450 to stay on 2 wheels. He does lean forward a lot more through, but I'm not sure how he doesn't tuck the front sometimes aswell.

And that, my friends, is why they should be using a rear thumb brake.

Ping was asked this on the pulp show some time back and if I remember correctly riders arent putting their foot out nearly as much because of 4 strokes and their nature to automatically place weight on the front wheel via engine braking whereas a 2 stroke it is a requirement.… it kind of bummes me out to see 4 strokes taking some of the technique out of riding moto… it allows any asshole to go faster than their talent allows and I dont mean that negatively to each their own as im not fast enough to piss and moan about it, also I'm not anti 4 stroke I just find riding to be more fun, rewarding and challenging riding a 2 stroke and go fast. Even better when my buddies who have only ridden thumpers have gotten better and gained on me until I put them on my rm and they can barely ride it in a straight line "how in the hell do you ride this thing? Hahaha
