Hey Guys,

I have just launched a new product called Tear off Gaskets! The purpose of the product is to stop water, mud and dirt from entering between the riders laminated stack. We guarantee that the gasket will never fail even in the worst conditions!

As a ex pro racer myself, I know the struggle of tossing your goggles mid moto because water or mud got behind my tear-off stack.

Please check it out over at https://tearoffgaskets.com/

You can give us a follow over @tearoff_gaskets on Instagram.

Great idea. Will be ordering some to try. Basically SOL for decent vision when raining/misting here in NW. Tearoff get soaked and roll offs seize up & break......

I am hoping they will keep dust out from behind the laminate stack like the 100% perimeter sealed do.

Simple and effective was the goal! The gasket material itself has biodegradable properties and splits In half when the final gasket is pulled.

It is simple to remove and clean afterwards, and does not damage the lens in the process.

Some customers are using the gaskets for everyday sand riding to avoid scratching the laminated stack when sand inevitable gets behind the first tear off.

The gaskets have been tested against pressure washers, running water for 5mins+, cold temperatures, flexing( imitating roost). You name it!

So is the goal here simply to replace the use off roll-offs in nasty conditions?

And if I'm understanding it correctly, you'd place a gasket on the lens, then a stack of laminate tear-offs, followed by another gasket and then more tear-offs?

I think the goal is to keep water, mud, and dust out from behind the stack and you would use a 2nd gasket between stacks. At least I assume the gasket is thin enough for that. It should work just like the perimeter sealed laminates that 100% sells for the Armega. Those are the only way to run tear offs if it is dusty.

Correct!

1. Peel adhesive backing
2. Place gasket onto the goggle lens
3. Apply laminated stack of tear-offs
4. Place gasket on top of laminate stack 1
5. Apply laminated stack #2 of tear-off's
6. Repeat steps 1-3

Due to the thickness of the gaskets & Tear off Stacks 3x 7 stacks (21 tear-offs) and 3 gaskets is the max thickness most goggle lens posts will allow!

I tried out the gaskets for the first time this weekend and was really impressed! We are mainly riding wet sand here in BC during the winter and the gasket worked just as advertised. I will be keeping a few in my goggle bag from here on out!

I would suggest going with the Airbrake or Frontline gasket for the new X-Brand Lucid goggle.

I have used the Leatt Gasket on the Gox, it worked, but by no means do I advise on that fitment. I would suggest going with the Airbrake or Frontline gasket to use with your knew Lucid goggles!

@newmason - There is actually no additional litter when using Tear Off Gaskets. Our product splits in half when the final tear off is pulled....the top half sticks to the laminated tear off, and the bottom half would either stick to another tear off or the goggle lens. Additionally, our product has biodegradable properties. We understood that this would be a major issue and switched material a few times in the development process to ensure we ended up with a product that would be Eco-friendly.

What is the purpose of the gasket splitting in half?

Tearoff Payoff BRO. We pay kids $1 for every 10 tearoffs they clean up and bring back to the race office.

Releasing the last tear off for use I would imagine.

Otherwise if the gasket stayed intact, you would have effectively glued the first tear off to your goggle lens.

Oh, the tear off actually adheres to the gasket? I was imagining a silicone surface on the gasket that created a seal with the tear off. But actually adhering the tear off makes more sense.

Needs to be made from a clear silicon material is all so it’s transparent.

I'm surprised that only 100% is the only goggle manufacturer that offers these as well. It's amazing in sloppy conditions.

I assume 100% has a patent. You know where they really rock? In hare scrambles that are super dusty but still have creeks and muddy spots.

Racing Optics has the patent on Laminated Tear-offs, Perimeter Seal, amoung a bunch of other patents in the off-road world. Scott has a patent on the double pin tear off mounting design, and 100% has a patent on the "Rise" in there goggle lens / frame. The goggle industry is very competitive to say the least! These companies purchase a licensing agreement to have the rights to use Racing Optics design.

CRF250Pilot- I agree, but these things take time! Logistically producing that design to be consistent, easy to mount while not leaving silicone gaskets all over the place are a few things business owners / product designers have to think about. Sometimes pure performance isn't the best route. HOWEVER! The patent I put into place covers a gasket of that design....... The future is bright.... I mean CLEAR.

Currently I am producing the Gaskets for

100% - Gen 1 & Armega
Oakley- Frontline, Airbrake, Mayhem
Fox- Vue, Airspace / Main
Leatt- Velocity
Scott- Prospect

100% Gen 2 & OG Optic's gaskets are being manufactured at the moment!

I also have plans to produce a "Universal" gasket that works for most goggles in the market! Fitment wont be as clean as precise but do to the wide range of Goggles in the market, this is a must!

So they should raise the price of the product so you can happily pay USPS rates?

No, they should figure out a warehouse or distributor stateside so that the majority of their customer base doesn't have to pay as much for shipping as they do product.

Its a great product but when cost of shipping exceeds cost of your product that isn't a great business plan and never will be. their product can literally be placed into an envelope yet shipping is almost $13.00

Let's see your purchase receipt Craig..
