Travel together as a Team, get to know the GP ways and riders.

You know the fans on both sides would eat it up.

Who pays?

(Not saying I wouldn’t be glued to MXGP-TV)

Not a terrible idea. The American riders would get a feel for the format, the riders, the way they rip the tracks, and how the Euros race. Plus consistent gate drops leading up to the event instead of coming in after a 6 week layoff.

They're not gonna want to do that after racing the whole rest of the year. These guys get very little breaks as it is, and you want them to give three more weeks?

The USA Factory Teams should employ 1 Supercross only rider and 1 Motocross only rider for 250/450. Pay both the same. They are completely different sports now and should have specialists for each discipline. You can't half ass Motocross at the World level any longer and expect to win.
At the end of the day motocross is far more important to the future of the sport than supercross as far as bike/gear sales.

That would be the best way to keep them at race pace prior to the MXdN. 6 weeks off is a long time to be away from pro racing. I doubt any of the guys would want to do it though because their seasons are brutal enough as is. They deserve and need time away from racing/training etc. Plus, more races means more chances of injuries.

It's kinda sixes on either side.

While I am a big fan of outdoor mx, I am also a big fan of supercross..If having both means we never win the MXDN then maybe that's ok.

MXDN is nice to win, but not the end of the world if we dont..I am already looking forward the the Monster Energy Cup..

A hefty bonus from their teams and sponsors would probably help make this happen. But the only way I could truly see it happening is if all 3 riders are on the same manufacturer.

Or maybe we should unscrew our schedule, put in a decent break for testing and recovery between SX and the nationals, and align the end of our series with the end of MXGP and the MXdN date. And if that pushes our off season events like MEC and RBSR back a few weeks into November, so what?

Another option would be to have the US MXGP as the last or second to last event on the calendar where the US team can show up and race

Yeah, but in 2017 it was 1 month before MXdN. I was thinking more like one or two weeks before. But if those guys doesn't show up anyway it doesn't matter. I know Webb did show up did anyone else previous years?

I think it could be sorted out and I also think the Team needs more unity like the French are doing.

They need to pit together, practice together and be a real team.

Guys like Tomac would love that (sarcasm). The top guys already complain (rightfully so) that the season is too long and you want to add three more races for free?

I like the idea but I don’t see it happening, too much work for guys that we’re looking forward to a vacation.

They did not pit together? WTF is that all about? The MXND is a team event and maybe acting like one might help their chances next year

Hold it. GP guys race from January to Oct, no break (besides a weekend of for far away racing). Almost all GP guys start racing Dutch, Belgian and Italian national races from mid January. It is like mini-GP.

So if US riders feel like traveling across Europe and racing is better than some time off at the end of a season, the possibility is there.

AMA and MXGP riders all race from January to Oct. GP guys do way more racing due to two day weekend (more practice sessions and qualifying race on Saturday). They also travel all around the world doing it.

Racing close to a big competition in the end of the season after around 30 weekend of races, when you have small injuries nagging you and are more prone to injury - is not always good. Ask Cairoli that gut really hurt 2 weeks before MXON and was on the verge of even going to US.

Sick of that reasoning. US series is a vacation compared to GPs.

The Euros run 19 GP? And their own countrys nationals. Plus the GPs that are fly away races. I think the schedules are pretty similar. The only thing that works for the Euros is they only race moto all year.

These racers don't base their careers off of the MXdN. That's why. I can't figure out for the life of me why so many people here think they do. Their main focus is to win their respective championship. The MXdN is a race for bragging rights. That's literally it. Glenn Coldenhoff gets to have bragging rights for the next year while Eli Tomac, Jeffrey Herlings and Jason Anderson get the big pay checks. There's your reality summed up in one paragraph. Can we stop this BS now?

So should the GP riders race the last 3 SX races? Our riders get paid to win races in the US.
