Give over. Barcia was decent!

First moto - 3rd fastest lap of the race. top 5 until he crashed (losing nearly 2 minutes) in the last couple laps.

Second moto - Finished a distant 3rd behind two of the greatest sand riders. Beat the likes of Nagl by 40 seconds, Desalle by 50 and Paulin by a minute.

Granted, he had a poor Saturday in the qualifying heat, but that was largely because he got stuck. Bar that, he was up there and in the mix with everyone not named Cairoli or Herlings. BFD!

4 YouTube uploads pre-MXdN in Europe = 270k views.

Not bad for a race that doesn't matter...

During Sunday's MotoGP race in Misano, the cameras caught Jason Anderson strolling the grid before the race, and the Dorna commentators made mention of him too. Not only have these guys embraced the experience of doing the race everyone else wanted to avoid (where they get to represent their country, no less), they are doing it with style. Like many have already said, no matter how they finish, I'm proud of them for making the effort.

Agree. He was great.
He didn't really ride the sand how it has to be ridden I guess, but he did great. Without his late problem in Moto 2 he would have finished 5-3.
Moto 3 he beat most of the GP guys. Nobody expected anyone to beat Herlings or Cairoli anyways

Passion, pizazz and vigor. These guys are setting an example of what moto should be about. The bar has now been set. I wish these guys nothing but success.

The 14th was due to crash and front brake locking up. Barcia was the 3rd or 4th fastest rider all day at Lommel. How is that not great? What does that say for all the GP riders who weren't as good as Barcia that day? So he finished a minute behind Herlings. So did every other GP rider. In fact, most finished further than that behind Herlings. Barcia was a non deep sand riding American, and he rode his ass off that day at Lommel. His effort was phenomenal. Just give the dude some credit already and quit trying to dismiss everything positive that he did. Jesus

Barcia was way better than Dungey that year. Beat everyone except the sand specialist.

Kudos to you and St. Ann More for speaking up and at least giving Barcia his due credit. He did well and it was from sheer effort because his technique in deep sand wasn't great, as is the case for any American or anyone who never rides it.

Let's not forget Cooper has been training in a sand pit, and he's very good in the sand and ruts.

This is going to be interesting. I don't know if the Dutch are beatable at home in the sand with so much momentum coming off of the MXGPs, but I'm already damn proud of our boys for giving it 100%.

When Herlings is ON, iT looks like he is in his sighting lap, barely revving and minimum 1 gear higher than any other rider on every part of the track!

I was at the local track Veldhoven riding today and met the husky part of team USA. Cool Guys.

Riders can crash and bikes can break as well....which can lead to a poor finsh or result in terrible gate position if it happens in qualifying race. Lots of things can go wrong for any team. The Dutch team will have the best chance of overcoming certain things no doubt.
Maybe Herlings' chain will come off and get lodged in Coldenhoff's spokes in the final race. Nothing is impossible..🙂

It looks like Herlings sees Americans second on the podium

"MXlarge: Team USA, they are looking solid, it will be tough for them, but they look motivated.

Herlings: I think they have one of the best teams out there. Cairoli out, Tonus out, Desalle out, Anstie out, so many others. America don’t send Tomac or Cianciarulo, but still they send a good team, so for the moment America is our biggest competition."

It sounded like Cooper was going to ride Lommel today and they were going to begin riding together tomorrow? Trying to find where I read that...

Sweet, thanks for posting the video. I hope Cooper will have the speed to keep Calvin, Jago, etc. in sight. He normally gets great starts and is a tiny guy on a really powerful bike, which is a big advantage in the sand

What’s funny is he mentions how Herlings was a 250 rider at the time but doesn’t mention that Barcia was as well lol

If we took a moment and remembered what everyone said in the gazillion posts after Red Bud, this USA team took almost all of it and put it to work. Go over early, ride similar tracks, train together, pit together (it's happening, right?), send the best available (might be the 1 point of contention) and have passion to do well. Having a team where everyone wants to be there overcomes the "best available" desire in my opinion.

And just by how much press and how many views they are getting on their video's, etc. This is a rejuvenated USA effort. Hats off to the team!
