Hahah right?! I hate watching it because it’s so far from being accurate it hurts.

I was a PA on that movie for a week during the shoot at the stadium when I was still in film school. I got to drop the gate on a few starts too.

Serious question. How come nobody in the film industry can get the sound right? They ALWAYS switch between 2 & 4 stroke and I don't get it haha. I mean I could possibly get being lazy and mixing up the two without researching, but switching back and forth, it seems like you have to go out of your way to mess that up. I watched a new movie a few weeks ago (may have been Jumanji I cant remember) and they did this! Come on it's 2018 and we still can't get this right Unsure

Probably the least outrageous price for a brand new 2 stroke in the history of Craigslist.

I agree! Easily one of the most annoying when watching a movie with dirt bikes in it.

Same here, I used to always say it watching terminator 2 as a kid. I had close to the same XR 80 at that time.... loved that scene.

I think in another movie thread someone mentioned that a 2 stroke sound is much easier to mix and blends better with dialogue than a 4 stroke

I also love how you hear shifting in a movie but you don't see the foot shifting...

Speaking of Hollywood not getting the stroke right. Any one noticed in Eli's new oakley commercial, the 2 stroke sound as he comes out of a turn and over a triple? Drives me crazy..

The four stroke deep tone will overpower all the other sounds in the scene so they always go with a two stroke

But how do you explain switching from 2 stroke to 4 stroke sound in different scenes on the same bike in many other movies?.... Actually same scene. I can't name them, but I know I've watched more than one movie have a chase scene and when it cuts back the bike is a different stroke lol

What they should have done for this movie is had him be a really good unknown rider and got help through some amateur nationals. The final race should have been at Loretta’s and have it end with him getting a factory contract after the race. Much more believable than some no name going out there and beating Reed. Not to mention Tyler Evans battling for the lead.

I dont blame him. I would never do paypal for anything either. I had an experience with someone asking to do paypal, he was a real person with a real phone number but obviously still a scammer. Way too sketchy.

Ive sold bikes out of state like cross country several times. Paypal is just about the safest way.

I've made thousands of PayPal transactions and never lost a penny. It's pretty fool proof.

I was there for that stunt where a crash happened on a triple. They had tons of cardboard boxes set up to catch the rider. They used the 2 stroke for the crash even though they were racing 4 strokes. I tried to tell the higher ups that people would know the difference, but no one cared, as it made the stunt easier to pull off.

As for the sound issue, this isnt an isolated problem. We are experts in this field so of course we notice things like that. Experts in other fields have just as many complaints about what Hollywood gets wrong in their field. As a writer, I try and do my research, but you can only do so much and then you usually chose what is better for the story than the truth or how it "really works." For the sound guys, its the same for them. They use what they think sounds the best for the audience, not what it "really" sounds like.

Paypal can take your money away if the guy makes one simple complaint.. Cashiers check only. Cash it at issuing bank.
And by Cash it, I mean cash it. Not deposit it.

That makes sense, thanks for the answer. At least you tried to tell them that people would notice lol...I still just can't wrap my head around them using two totally different sounds for the same bike and thinking it would sound best for the audience. But anybody that doesn't ride doesn't seem to notice, so they may be right.
