Team GB would have finished 1 point behind France

If Tommy Searle's bike had survived the last two laps of the first moto and he'd managed to stay in 4th, Team GB would have finished the day on 37 points with 4-4-6-10-13 moto scores. France would have been bumped from 35 to 36 and Italy would be bumped from 37 to 39, putting GB in second place just a single point behind France.

Just puts a bit of perspective on how well the British boys rode on the day. I don't think anyone would have predicted a 4th from Searle or Watson before the event. Just unfortunate that Searle's bike didn't make it to the flag.

Yes I know it's irrelevant at this point and you could come up with 10 other hypothetical scenarios for other teams but it's certainly interesting.

Would’ve, should’ve, could’ve.

If Vlaanderen didn’t DNF in race one NL would probably end up with 17 points, winning MXoN by a mile.
It didn’t happen though.

as much as I hate these pointless "IF" threads...........

Searle had Tomac's number all weekend it seemed. Seemed like Eli was always behind Tommy, and the gap never realy changed. Searle was obviously gutted at the DNF, and rightfully so

He rode the best we have seen since he moved up to the 450, I was gutted too when he dnf'ed.

I am not even sure he has a team next season ... hoping he stays with Dixon (when it is not muddy!)

If some of you had even just half a brain, you would have seen the part of my post where I stated that I know it's an irrelevant point at this stage and that you could come up with 10 other hypothetical team scenarios Pinch I was simply pointing out a statistic that most people probably hadn't realised.

Ironically it's mostly Americans with the stupid responses when their result wasn't affected by bad luck at all, just bad riding Laughing

Searle's with BOS for 2019 and teammate to Evgeny Bobryshev, still on Kawasaki though.

The engines on the dixon bikes are so unreliable. They'd be better off running stock engines
