Team GB MXoN Team 2017

Edited Date/Time 8/16/2017 3:05pm
Today, team manager Mark Chamberlain, in conjunction with the ACU Motocross Committee, named Max Anstie (MXGP), Dean Wilson (Open), and Tommy Searle (MX2) to the team.

Looks like a good team to me. Podium is on the cards!

Good team, definitely podium potential. Would've liked either Watson or Mewes on MX2 as they're both riding great at the moment plus I feel they should of be given the chance.

Hasn't Searle just come back from a long injury?

Yeah he scored like 15-14 or something like that last weekend in MXGP in Switzerland. Must have been a pretty difficult decision with Watson and Mewse around as regular MX2 guys that aren't too shabby. Anyhow this is strong team that on a given they can fight for the win.

I think defiantly the correct team to pick. Watson and Mewse's time to shine will come around in the future I'm sure.

Tommy is a beast on a 250f

Another team with an outside shot to win, with podium aspirations. Seems like there is nearly 10 teams with a chance for a podium.

Watson won the British MX2 title this year, been riding the bike all year and has been doing great in GP's. Tommy has been injured all year (again), gets like a 15th overall at his first ride all year but gets put straight into the team? Was it 2013 when he last rode a 250? OK he beat Herlings there in 2012 but that was 5 years ago now.

if USA doesn't win, it would be cool to see GB take it.

I remember Matterley when Billy McKenzie (sp) was there and doing good, the crowd went wild.

Ok, who the hell with any world class talent did Watson beat to win the British championship? That series is a joke these days. And let's be honest if tommy lined up at a British champs on a 250f there's no way you would choose Watson to beat him, not a chance. Searle is proven at des nations, and how many punters will Watson bring in? Searle is the UK's golden boy and fans love him. Great choice, I can't wait to spend the weekend getting twisted in the beer tent Evil

Its a tough call because Watson has had a reasonable season and worked hard at it but I don't really see him being as fast as Searle. Sure thing Tommy has been out for a long time but he's sure experienced and a very capable rider on a 250f.

Watson deserves it more than Searle but I think the manager has done a perfect job at picking a potentially winning team. No disrespect to Watson as I'm a huge fan of his but TS takes the edge for me this time around.

I agree, would have liked to seen Simpson instead of Searle, with Max on a 250, but agree on Watson and Mewse , they will be go to guys of the future, pick the top guys we have now.

I hope Tommy puts time in on the 250, he looked rusty in Switzerland, as you would expect, but needs to get back to form.

Searle is a gamble. But he has time to get back to close to 100% for the race.

too young, he already struggled going to MX2 , this would be too much, when he rides well, he rides well, no doubt , but experience every time for me, and i'm no Searle fanboy, but he has always delivered when it mattered.

Good Team, with good back up if needed.

I'm amazed about the amount of credit Tommy Searle has with the Brits. His results don't lie and the days he was on a 250 are looooooong gone.

Hey don't tarnish me with the same brush lol.

To be fair it is a very good team, just wish Searle was more race fit.

If there was no age limit, and Searle went into MX2 GPs, you'd have to think he'd be challenging for the championship. Think what JvH did on a 250 at last year's MXdN.
