My sone just turned 5 so getting him a TC50 and I’ve had my rm250 going on 6 years so it’s time to change and Suzuki has no new 250 2T so I thought I’d change but now I can get a good deal on a fc 350 2020 for only 1k more than a 2019 TC350.
So from guy who have them or ridden both what’s you thoughts on these bikes. I’m 2T though and through but at 45 tired of working them to keep up the speed.what are the costs like maintains the 350 a 450 is way to much for me I’m stuffed as it is after 10 minutes and I’m worried a 250f will need more servicing.
Any advice from guys that own them would be awesome.

I’ve been a 2t guy as well. Have had kx’s, Honda, 3 yz250’s and 2 ktm 250 sx’s. Then I got a 2017 350 and it was pretty much over for me. I still love my two strokes, currently still have a yz250 left, but as far as traction, stability and a bike that’s just easy to ride fast for a long time you can’t go wrong with the 350.

350s feel very light, turn incredibly well and like I said, you won’t believe the traction and stability you get. The thing is just hooked up and pulling all the time and turns so well. Another thing that you will get used to in a hurry is the fuel injection and the estart on the 350. I never thought it would be a big deal but just walking over to the bike and stabbing the button and you’re ready to go is something you don’t want to live without once you have it. If you’re a regular vet or amateur rider I don’t see how you wouldn’t get close to 75-100 hrs without doing much maintenance at all besides air filters, oil and fuel. I would say go for it, if you don’t like it they have great resale.

Thanks for your input.... I’ve never ridden any 4 stroke ever so I’m still up in the air but the deal would be good.

i don't know whether i buck the trend but i seem to ride 2t better. I've had a few 4t over the years (never a 350...)
so i'd advise you to try and get a test ride if possible. I found the engine braking gave me arm pump. even on the newer 4t where they have alot of it tuned out. just my 2 "pence"

I'm 43 and went with a 17 FX 350. Absolutely the perfect bike for me. Feels like a 250. Runs with a 450. 120 hrs. Air filters and oil changes only.

the 350 is a really fun motor to ride if you are a 2 stroke guy. similar power/rev characteristics but just more and better.if buying new it takes about 10 hrs ride time to fully break in the chassis. engine will free up as well.

The TC250 is a great bike. Best 250 2-stroke I've ridden, once setup for you. Have a 2017 that is almost just right for me.

That said, a FC350 will be my next new bike purchase. It's the most 2-strokeish 4 stroke I've ridden. Engine braking is still present, but acceptable IMO.

The good news is this is a win-win situation. Each bike is awesome but I agree with above, my 250sx (similar to tc) is the best 2-stroke I've ever ridden.

The 350 is the best motorcycle that I’ve owned in 38yrs of riding/racing motorcycles.

Yeah what Seth505 said.

I have a dialed in 2017 TC250 and it's the best MX bike I've ever ridden. Running it in the 'mild' map (preferred map of most magazine testers) smooths the hit out and the bike has plenty of tractional power.

I find 4-strokes tire me out quicker as they weigh more. I'm 40. Last time I rode my TC250 I did a 40 minute moto on the main track at Cahuilla...

Good luck.

I'm 52 and have the same FX350. One of the best bikes I've ever ridden. I can race moto, scrambles, GPs, and enduro with it. Change the fork air pressure and a few clicks on the compression front & rear and you are good to go. I'm at 100+ hours and do the same basic maintenance. Highly recommended.

You're 45? You've only ever ridden two strokes? Get the TC250. It's the best 250 2 stroke out there, as far as I know. It will feel like a more stable version of your RM250, only faster.

At the very, very least, ride one of those ill-handling, heavy, hot, finicky, skill-sapping, track-destroying, stall-prone pieces of 4-stroke shit before you buy one. Who knows, maybe you'll love it. As for me, I can barely even ride one. I still think the entire 4-stroke revolution is some gigantic conspiracy to pull the wool over my eyes: nobody actually likes them or thinks they are better, but they're all buying them and going along with the joke until I give in, and then they'll say "gotcha!!!" WoohooGrinning

I think you have decided,

Like others have said, you can't go wrong with either bike.

Enjoy man!

I'm 47 and have a 17 FC350 and an 18 150SX came off of 450's before. I love my 350, and dont think you can really go wrong either way.

I had a rocket ship TC with some head work.. On mine, I had to run 50/50 C12 & pump, and dude let me tell ya it DRANK FUEL. I'd go thru 4gal a day easy. Got too expensive, and I didn't want to sacrifice the mods. One of the most fun bikes I had but couldn't feed it.

If you don't do any mods and leave her stock it helps, but it will still drink WAY more fuel than a 4 stroke.. Might not be a big deal to some but I rode so much then it killed me $$.

I've got some quality time on a 350 too- Both are awesome, awesome bikes.

Flip a coin!

I'm looking for a 350 right now, I had a 300 and it was fun but I was chasing carb settings. Two strokes are fun if you are either doing tight technical riding more than 50% of the time or you're a track rat that's in shape and actually knows how to ride one properly. Otherwise I'd suggest getting the 350, they're just so much easier and enjoyable to ride. If I had my way I'll have a 350 and a 125 eventually.

I love it. It took me about 20 hours of ride time to break some lazy habits. It has also made me a better rider overall and helped my skills. I have as much fun racing it in 2 stroke open as i do racing my 350 in 40+ and 45+. I have debated just racing it exclusively. I am still improving and wish it had more overrev, but finally remembering how to keep it singing that sweet 2 stroke sound.

Tough call. I have a 17 FC350 and my friend has a 18 TC250. We like to go back and forth and debate the pros/cons. I think the TC is more fun to ride. The 350 is the better race bike, in my opinion. If you were looking to do some racing and could only have 1 bike, 350 all day. Just looking for a fun bike to play on, I'd to TC250 due to the simplicity of it and how fun 2strokes are to ride. I just bought a 125 since I was missing 2strokes in my life. Still have the 350 and since I'm still racing, it would be my main bike, if I could only have 1.

I took a chance with a 4stroke and instantly had maintenance issues. Fixed it, sold it. For a piece of mind, I now plan on sticking with the 2strokes.

I’ve had multiple 125’s,250f’s ,250 two strokes (including a KTM250SX) and 450’s and a 150 and a 200. Those are just the big bikes I have owned. Right now I have a factory CR125,A CR250 , one of Chad Reed’s 2011 CRF450’s, a 2018 Fully modded twisted development KTM270 SX-F and a 2019 KTM350 with just suspension and a Twisted map. The 350 is the best bike I have ever owned and I have had just about everything. I am 44 and it makes just enough power to not tire me out and get me over the jumps
and it doesn’t feel like it weighs much more than a 250F.

Hey Alex , I hope the pipe , silencer and CF goodies are treating you well. I sold those parts , but still have the bike. God dang it , I can't seem to get myself to sell the bike , with only 6.8hrs on it! I'll lose my ass along with $1100.00 I have in the suspension too. I may just get it toned down and try again.

I had a 2018 250xc 2t. I’ve been a two stroke guy my entire life. I decided to buy a 2020 350sxf. GAME OVER. I can’t believe how much easier it is to go fast on.

I ride a yz450 and tc250 right now and I find I have way more fun on the tc. I can ride the yzf a few laps longer and am a bit more comfortable on it since I have had it longer, but the TC is growing on me quick!

The pure fun of the TC trumps the tiny bit more speed and stamina I have on the 450 on most days

I've had both. Had 45 hours on the 350 and recently traded it for a TC250. Chassis feel identical, both bikes are fast. The TC makes power low-mid and signs off up top. The 350 has a decent low but really shines mid to top.

You can ride the 350 in one or two gears and pull yourself around most tracks (atleast where I am), but the 250 needs to be shifted a bit more.

IMO, if you're riding any woods, tight areas, the TC wins hands down. If its all moto... flip a coin.
