I’m outta state working and my mom is coming to visit So I bought this big gear bag for her to bring all me gear in on the Plane from Texas to Virginia is it safe to do that or is it better just to ship it through UPS, FedEx? I Plan on buying a bike here but don’t wanna buy all the gear over again. Thanks

Flown with my gear as well, no issues. Just check what the weight limits are for the airline you are flying. They absolutely rape you for overweight baggage.

I did it once and the plane had to make an emergency landing because of the stink coming from my gearbag

I do every time i fly. I use it as my luggage. Sometimes they do make you take out the helmet and boots to check. I brought a 250f and 450f head and 2 slip ons on one time took a extra 20 minutes as TSA needed to make sure they weren't bombs lol.

No issues at all.

[Edit: other than total weight, as noted below.]

You're talking about checking it as luggage, right? There's no way that's getting in an overhead bin.
