TX300 conversion

So one of my good friends pulled the trigger on a 18' TX300, and is in the process of converting it to a moto version.

Even has Cone Valves/Trax Shock. Question is, is the ignition box worth swapping from a TC250? -I swore I read somewhere where SleetDawg did this, and said it helped tons. Also curious about perhaps bumping the compression up a bit-


Should be a killer project/Vet class killer

I'd leave it alone and get some lap times when it is set up.

Hard hitting power is counter productive to anything other than retail sales.

I have a 300XC cylinder, head, and ignition in the mail now. Will report back after installation and testing.

The problem is the 300 signs off really early so the TC ecu helps draw the power out longer, i would stay away from adding compression, its only going to make it worse

What's wrong with the stock motor?
I've heard from several people that they love the behavior on an MX track.

It's like a smoother "450" to me!

I'm not sure that there's any wrong with it- I have a 17' TC250, and can't wait to compare the two once he has it dialed in (stk motor)

I loves my TC250. He did too, cuz he went down this road!

For what its worth I am a Vet B rider in mx and love the TX 300 on the track with the stock set up. My FMF pipe and silencer helped a lot with making rev out a little more. Just let it be. The bike pulls 3rd gear in turns like a 450, they are bad ass.

I race GNCC with mine, absolutely love the stock power curve and think it would be great for Mx versus explosive power of a SX... play with the power valve springs/dolly adjuster and silencer variations before you touch anything
