Finally got my boys 2004 Suzuki JR50 running, which by the way, the autoinjection premix was a pain in the butt and dumped too much oil into the fuel, so it would never run. Capped it and premixed the gas in the tank and it started right up. After the Suzuki started running, my youngest claimed that is his bike and I needed to find another for my 6 year old. Scoured Facebook marketplace for a bike and really liked the TTR50's with electric start. Found one with lost of aftermarket parts and paid a little more than I wanted, much like a lot things right now, but got a cool little bike that runs well and looks great. Happy to have it. Now I gotta get my boys practicing. Cool little bike for anyone looking at mini bikes.

Nice! Had one for my daughter. Owned it for almost 6 years and even though it didn't get ridden much, that bike was solid! Never put it on a charger or anything and it always fired up right away. Original battery was still in it when I sold it

I'm impressed so far with the fit and finish. It's a 2006 that seemingly hadn't been ridden much. All the GYTR goodies make it cool for me lol

Best of luck with it. I’ve got one I’ve threatened to put in my burn pile more times than I care to admit. Those are the most cold blooded bikes imaginable. Not a good trait to have with no kickstart and a battery the size of a cigarette pack.

HaHahahaha I am on the prowel to see if a GYTR kickstart kit would show up somewhere on the internet and I can snag it.

Is that a thing??? I’ll outbid you if you find one. There’s been several days my daughter has had to ride her stacyc instead because the ttr decided it wanted to rest for the day.

I’ll say, I’ve got it down to a science now. Pull the filter cover and start it using starting fluid. Spend 3-5 minutes keeping it running with starting fluid and being finicky with the choke. And I keep a second fully charged battery with me just in case.

If it wasn’t for this, the bike is great. Unfortunately, it’s enough of an issue I’m picking up a couple crf50’s for my girls. I’ve got too many pains in my ass these days. Dirtbikes are supposed to be fun.

It is a thing and I've just found one on eBay. Can't spend this much coin on a kick starter kit though. Maybe tax return time lol

Definitely understand where you are coming from.was in the same ballpark with the JR50 until I got the kinks worked out.wamted throw that thing in a ravine more than once. Now that it's figured out, runs great and is one less thing to worry about.

Sounds like the ones that are cold blooded need a larger pilot. Try one larger new pilot and see how it goes.

If you have to do any of that to start it and get it running you need to take to a mechanic and they will get it running properly. Laughing none of what you are doing is even close to normal.

Also drill out the stupid brass piece on the side of the carb so you can access the adjustment screw.

Done all the above. I’m not the only one. There’s hours of reading about how cold blooded these things are.

I've never had one, but I know someone who does, and they are nice little bikes that seem to be perfect for kids.

Nah, perfectly normal to use starter fluid EVERY time you have to start it AND continue to spray starter fluid another 3-5 minutes latter....

Thanks! I like it. It's a cool little bike. Just repacked the muffler. Thing was louder than a 450! My gosh.

I have one for my kids. From stone cold....Turn on fuel, choke and ignition. click into 3rd gear, push around yard for 20 seconds. Fires right up. Give a few moderate revs for a minute to warm up. Choke off. Kids ride for hours.... once warm fire off button first pop.

Put on a pipe and got rid of the air box and jetted it and starts right up with choke right away when cold. Looped it out so I need to fix rear fender.Blush Has the tall seat and bars and stiffer rear shock and some Chinese plastic on it.

Just put the GYTR filter kit on mine and removed the old airbox. What a puzzle for air to travel through. I think I might need to change jetting but starts right up as is.

I am cracking up. The stew Daytona fender just makes it.
