So I heard the Preston deal is done, and he will be on a Kawasaki for A-3. If not, then one of the mx aftermarket suspension shops in Corona doesn't have the best inside info.

Because DV is a great tester. New bike, lots of testing.

For the same reason that some people throw random extra apostrophes in their sentences?

are they letting him ride the outdoors?

It was ridiculous that Preston didn't have a ride this year. I'm glad he got this chance. Should be some good competition between him and Ferry.

He turned down a MDK/KTM offer because he was waiting for the FC deal to go thru, plus he was asking 3 times the price what MDK was willing to pay him. When the FC deal fell apart, the MDK offer was expired too.

Bad luck for sure.

What is it with all this research talk lately?

06' TP covered DV ini SX. DV was out for the latter part in SX though. So if you only take the races both were in, TP still had DV covered. TP covered DV in MX 334-314.

05' TP rookie season in 250SX. DV had TP covered in SX. TP out 1st 4 rounds, so if you take races both were in, DV still covered TP. TP rookie season outdoors. DV covered TP 390-308.

Good for both those guys!

Congrats to Preston, I hope he shows up and hangs it out, what does he have to loose? (health of course). He needs to post up and at least beat Ferry if hes hoping for an outdoor ride from them. Wonder if they have the budget for that? Anyone know if this is remotely possible?

IF James comes back for the outdoors, TP wont have a ride.

[quote="Cygnus":1yl82qg7]I can't wait for decent podium speech ![/quote:1yl82qg7]

I really like my bike. I like riding my bike. I just rode around out there and didn't really know what place I was in until after the checkers when they told me to come to the podium for an interview. I don't even read my Mechanic's pit board. I just ride. What place did I get? I must be top three, because I know I didn't get the holeshot check. LOL

It's just cool that he takes time to post in here. NOthing like a first hand account from a rider who is doing the task. anyone who can make mains and do it for a living.....what the hell would any of us do to have that talent. Oh and this isn't an butt kissing deal, riders don't get to that point with out sacrifice.

One thing people forget is that a rider's results are important but also is his marketability. I would venture to say today david's exsposure is more marketable then Travis's. i am sure that plays into decisions.

TP needs to make the most of this opportunity.

With RC retired, JS injured and a few others parked ... there's a lot more chance of hiting a podium for everyone. If he does well, I don't see why he couldn't parlay that into something for the outdoors as well, regardless of James. Probably a good chance there will be a few more out with injuries before the Nats start.

I disagree. If he does well in SX and if Kawasaki doesn't keep him on, someone else will surely pick him up for the outdoor season. With a few riders not doing MX, TP would be a great pickup for a good team. Then it will be up to TP to accept the money that they can pay him... or not.

Money talks. I'd imagine that TP expected to be bringing in the coin from FC. Missed out on that.. who knows what Kawi will pay him and if it's enough to not want to run outdoors. Just speculatin.
