Being from Atlantic Canada, I don't rub shoulders with too many famous or infamous people.

Was cool to see him and say hi at the TO SX a few years back. Hope he seat bounces out of this mess.

Best wishes.

So devastating...hate reading threads like this and hope for the best, Steve is truly one of a kind! He did so much for the sport and as many have mentioned, never hesitated to lend a hand when someone asked. When i first started working here he even sent me an email and said congrats, in a way only he could do lol (those that know him know exactly what i mean)

Hang tough big guy! we are all pulling for you.

*btw: i have zero tolerance for any sort of negativity in a thread like this. If you dont have something positive to say, say nothing at all...period!

Even though we would go back and forth on anything non moto he always did it in a way where I felt like I was having a conversation or debate with a best friend.
.
He is one of those guys that you always clicked on his post to see what he had to say, incredibly intelligent and entertaining and he has a huge heart. I really missed when he took a step back from the moto boards and was thrilled when he came back to Mototalk.

Hang in there big guy......thoughts n prayers are with you my friend

I just talked to his sis-in-law. The outlook is bad, really bad. His sis-in-law Rhonda called me from his bedside so I can tell him "anything I need to tell him". How do you tell a brother and a friend goodbye? He is and always has been part of our family and went with us to shoot his last race in Tulsa. What a great trip!!! Please say an extra prayer or two.
This is breaking my heart. Steve was one of the pioneer's for the online MX chat stuff......and to see this happen to him really sucks.

When Steve left NASA, he went to work for FED EX taking care of their aircraft engine. A UPS guy made a mistake of making a delivery while we were outside the arena in Tulsa........ I stood lookout watch while he did this.. LOL

Steve gave me a shout out on motonews back in the day...It was cool to be acknowledged by him. He was always friendly at the races and very accessible whenever you saw him. My prayers and well wishes go out to him and his family at this time.

TFS is one of a kind. 10 years ago, i was a high school kid trying to take pics at nationals. He was kind and encouraging to me even though i was like a kook trying to catch a wave. Agree or disagree, i like reading what he writes. A strong community has all types. Probably one of the greatest stickers ever! Wishing him the best.

Damn, sorry to hear the bad news. Get well, Steve. One of the coolest guys on the MX scene. Still have my TFS stickers - I was more excited when I got to meet TFS at one of the races than I was about meeting the riders. Steve was the first guy to give my "Thumpa Report" a home on the net.

This is Steve and my son Brien DeVillo at the Tulsa Arenacross 1/26/2013. He really liked it when people found out he was there and wanted to meet him. When they started introducing themselves to him, he said "that's something, huh?"
We hope and pray he gets to go with us next year too!

Prayer's go out to my Alabama moto brother. Steve and I haunted the same tracks in the 70's and shared common friends in Joey Bruer, the Ward's, and countless others while racing at Flying Wheels, Wing, Opp, and various other Chicken Licks racetracks all over South Alabama. Get well buddy.

This is terrible news. Makes me really sad. Steve help me get into this shit and try to make a living through the love of MX. I enjoyed the time I spent with him and Cox back in 06-07. We head-butted a lot on the forums later and he handed me a spanking here and there but beyond our disagreement I believe there was always a good level of respect. I thought it was cool that he had gone back to make a living in the industry he went to school for. Steve was definitely a very interesting man.

Thoughts and prayers.

This is a one off post for Steve, like Alphado I had to get on my knees and beg to get my account unlocked (or ask GuyB via instagram!) Its only been, what 4 years since I've posted.

Anywhoo....

Steve is my friend, maybe not as deep as some of you but he is my friend. Many years ago Steve stayed in Des Moines at our place a few different times. Lately, off and on, we had been having late night facebook chat conversations, mostly making fun of all of you, in good fun (mostly).

The news of this deeply saddens me, I will never fully understand the physics of a seatbounce, he must pull through to brush me up on this, again.

And to everyone trying to stop the shit stirring on here. That's exactly what he would want, people trying to ruffle feathers, it was his specialty. Maybe let it go, for him.

Steve, don't go into the light, I pulled through you can too!

GuyB, Thanks and lock this thing back up. Deadbolt even... I don't want to have to come back here and tell all the noob's what is up!

Its cool to see the amount of accounts in this topic that joined August 2006, OG's...

TFS is an ornery ass. Get stubborn and prove medicine, the universe and the world wrong.

He and I rarely agree, sometimes he's right and I would have to eat crow, sometimes not. He's ALWAYS true to his word. Not many are like that.

Get well soon.

who do you pray to, if the guy is a athiest? just asking.
If your dad or brother or son was in ICU I don't think you would "just ask" that question.
