The problem with things like UC, Crohns etc especially at very early stages is that it's very hard to diagnose. People will get false positives with the blood tests and taking aspirin or other things can make it look like you have UC etc during an upper or lower GI exam."

It did pretty well for twenty years but messed up in 2011, and it took a surgeon most of the year to fix it. They took me off prednisone cold turkey, which turned out to be the beginning of a very long nightmare. That's when weight shot up and my thyroid went out. All the time I was running around shooting moto, adrenals were shot to hell. Prednisone withdrawal kills adrenals. I guess my surgeon read the wrong research a paper.
FWIW..

I only know Steve through Mototalk, and here of course. He used to talk about his thyroid issues and I kept encouraging him to see my doc who is a thyroid specialist. The advice he had been given through the years was junk... very common for docs to mistreat thyroid. He finally did see him, and I was very stoked for him to finally get things on track with regards to that issue, and now this. Really bummed, hoping he fights this like he fought the power!

My heart and prayers go out the TFS and his family. The guy is one of the nicest guys you could meet. I met him at San Fran SX and he was polite and friendly and fun to be around. Stay strong mate

Am I the only one who thinks it's ridiculous that this thread is not pinned at the top ?

TFS is a big reason we are all here.
