I just thought of something...

There's not enough space on a start gate for six feet between each rider, but what if they built a wall (like thin metal) between each rider, so it's almost like how a horse race gate is?

That would be unreal for us AZ boys and girls. Fingers crossed spectators can go.

This has been talked about even when they were talking about racing in the fall, no spectators

At this point, I think GuyB might have a hard time getting in the door

I love the fact that they are being fluid and are willing to make changes based on whatever happens. I would love to see them complete SX before outdoors.

Also, championship will not have an asterisk, but the season will.

I'm going to all 7, already made plans.

At this point I would be happy to watch 5 3 wheelers race on something!

Well hell I don't see why not word on the street is we're also supposed to have all the baseball games played at Chase Field with no fans very limited if any.
Might as well grab NFL football too while we're at it!

Be great if they can make it work, live sport of any kind is welcome right now. Could be a good way to get exposure to people who would otherwise never change the channel over as well.

With the continued developments in rapid testing with results being available in less than 15 minutes, they could easily test everyone involved with each team and the entire crew (TV, dirt, flaggers, all riders, etc) and then quaratine them on property for the whole time, then retest if people leave, etc. For something like SX its totally doable. There's tons of room in Glendale for trailers and for everybody needed to put the show on. Track is the largest on the circuit except for Daytona. Indoors in case it gets too warm. Very doable.

Whats even better is that floor space is massive. I always love how long the tracks are there.

I'm told this is likely happening. If so, I'll probably be renting a Prius and driving the 20 hours to Phoenix and at least staying for 2 weekends of it if I do. No airplanes for me. I'm hoping those are the doubleheader weekends.

I've always thought social distancing at a SX could be done pretty easily with an empty stadium depending on the number of people allowed. I've taken this whole deal pretty seriously, but SX is definitely one of the sports where you can pull it off without too much worry of spreading Covid-19 if everyone is smart about it. With no fans, you have the whole parking lot to spread out the pits and you can very safely spread out staff inside the facility. Whether I get down there or not, this is going to be wild to see.

Like you'all. I'm praying this happens. First, to get the fuck out of the house and watch some racing. Also, to witness a race without fans. Most importantly, though, for the growth of the sport. This could be big for the growth of the sport to get on National TV [assuming the main NBC Station] when 4 million people are watching video game SIM Nascar races because there's no other racing.

If this is true it’s interesting in the fact that the guys were told outdoors first so I’d imagine they’ve been on their mx setups/testing. Wonder how quick they’ll be able to go back to sx mode.

If I was a betting man, my money says the outdoors, along with any other spectator-dependent sporting events this year, ain’t gonna happen. Until there is a vaccine, I would imagine that social distancing won’t allow it.
