FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATLANTA, GA. (APRIL 20, 2021)
Team Honda HRC is pleased to announce our new device to improve rider awareness and improve overall rider safety; hazard lights! With lessons learned at Atlanta 3, when Ken Roczen let Cooper Webb pass we saw an opportunity to develop a safety system to let a following rider know of your intentions to let them pass.
Any time a Team Honda HRC rider wants to give up position, they simply press the button installed on their handlebars, illuminating flashing orange indicators installed on either side of the rear fender, signaling to the following rider allowing a pass to be made safely.
We are hoping other teams and riders adopt this technology, we feel this is the future of preventing racing incidents, and may also improve the flow of leaders passing lappers.
Pictured is a rough photoshop edit of the concept in action during the 450 SX main event last Saturday, had this technology been available at the time. Also included is a close up photo of the new hazard activation button installed on a Team Honda HRC CRF450R’s handlebars.

I'm a Ken fan too.
Here I was hoping he’d get a title this year.
