Isn't he born in 1996? So he would turn 23 in 2019 = could still race MX2

Would be tough with Prado but It would be cool to see him start the season in top form . I think he has the 3rd most moto wins this season behind Jonass and Prado ?

Covington joins the ranks Trampas Parker, Mike Healey, Bobby Moore and a few other Americans to win in the tiddler class.

This guy is hauling ass and outdoors will be a legit threat to win in 2019. He just has to make sure SX doesn't kill him first...

He might qualify to race in mx2, but the nature of motocross at the moment means that the smart decision is to take a 2 year deal with Husqvarna in the US. If he stays doing mx2 in 2019 and doesn't win, he would either have to move to MX1 or go to AMA. At that point he's a veteran without a title moving into a pretty full MX1 class, or a veteran without a title moving into a pretty full 250 AMA class. He could win an mx2 title, but man, it's a big gamble against Prado, Olsen, Vlaanderen, and Watson, especially when Husqvana are offering a sweet deal in the US.

The reason why he's coming back is because he's taking Zach's ride. They wanted him to fill that spot. If he waited until the end of 2019 , there might not be a spot for him on that team. I believe it's a 2 year deal for here in the states. So 1 year deal in Europe before he has to move up to mxgp because he'll be 23....OR....a two year Husky deal here in the states.

As far as Thomas goes......I think he'll miss it over there. He didn't really have a spot here in the states a few years back , and got an offer to ride the MX2 class over there. He cut his teeth , learned a lot and made a name for himself. I'm a huge fan of Thomas , and his will and desire to fight tooth and nail every race , shows some great character.

He seriously reminds me of Bobby Moore. Same personality and kinda similar look. Bobby Moore was always one of my favorites. He stuck it out in Europe for years and finally got a championship.

I will miss him in the GPs, looking forward to seeing him in the Nats, but really hope he returns to Europe eventually. Good kid and hard worker.

Pretty sure he had a deal with Kawasaki to ride for Pro Circuit here and he chose to go to Europe IIRC from an interview with Mitch.

As I recall he was working with Johnny O’Mara before leaving for Europe.
So you have a connection to O’Mara…. And thus Aldon Baker because Johnny O is the one that put Baker in contact with Ricky Carmichael. Connect the dots… He’s taking Zach’s place down @ the baker factory in the 250 class.

Thomas is defiantly one of my favorite riders in MX2 was great see him get an overall today finally he deserves it. I really think he'll be a threat over here once he's comfortable and i actually don't think he'll do bad in supercross maybe better than people think. Just an all around solid good dude.

Anyone know if he's repairing torn ACL after the GP's? If he goes for surgery he might not be able to be ready for supercross.

After a bad start (due to injuries) TC has gotten better during the season, and he is capable of winning in every GP he enters. But TC doesnt have the consistency to stay with Prado for a championship battle in '19.

Prado's 7th in moto 2 yesterday was his 2nd finish outside the top 3 in a moto in 23 moto's.... With the other being a 4th. Covington had 8.

A lot of the champs are moving up to the 450 class here so its a good time to take a shot at it. AP and Osbourne are both going up right? What about Jeremy Martin? I would have put Covington as a 5-8 type of guy against this years group (when healthy) but he can probably do some real damage next year.
