T2 in a stock slightly modded 125?

I got a 2020 YZ125 with a fresh top end. Just lookin for some race gas so why not. I have an FMF SST, V force reeds, Twin air power flow kit. Not much, but some “mods” I guess. Would the T2 give a bit more kick, and possibly run better? let me know. Not too familiar with race gas.

It'll do great. I run it in everything from a '74 Bultaco to '18 TC250 with no issues

Have you noticed any kick in the fuel? Heard the oxidation gives a kick. True or not?

You really need to tune the bike according to the fuel to achieve an real gains.
Just running T2 in a fairly stock motor won't do much other than having less crap
in the fuel when compared to pump gas. With better fuel you can jet more on
the edge of crispy with a little more safety than pump.

If you just want a good bang for the buck, blend your T2 or mixed VP-110 or whatever,
with mixed pump. That's a decent cost/benefit.

It'll work fine - bike will run very crisp and clean. Hard to say you'll get any "kick" out of a 125 with just fuel, but it will make sure you'll have access to all the motor can produce, assuming you ride it that way. Wink

We run T2 cut 50/50 with non-ethanol 92 @ 40:1 in our supermini to save a little $$. Running T2 alone can get spendy if you ride 2-3 times a week. Motor is a mild mod and it runs very very strong on that mix.

Isn't T2 50:1??? I wouldn't go leaner than 32:1 unless I was riding singletrack.

Imo T2 is the easiest and most reliable fuel to run in any smoker stock or modded and don't over think the jetting.

Be careful with that SST pipe, they have a very narrow end section by design and back in the day ruined a lot of pistons.... didn't even know those pipes are still around. FMF used to make a rev pipe for 125s as well

Should I spend the money and get a different pipe?

Hammer what premix do you run? The rumor I’ve always heard is VP uses maxima. I cut mine 50/50 too.

Diluting down T2 is like pouring sprite in a 50 year old scotch.

If you have a local airport close by, you might want to consider running AvGas 100LL. Its a very stable fuel, higher octane than most pumps, and much cheaper than race gas. You'll just need to lean your jetting out a little bit. I run it straight in my KX125 mixed 32:1 with Maxima Super-M and it works great.

Spend money on a 38mm Keihin Airstryker carb of Ebay & put a STIC metering block in it and thank me later. Nothing comes close to what that will do for power & rideability, period.......

The only thing that will give the 125 more kick is your skills....keep it on the pipe. Momentum is everything with 125's and that's why they're the most fun and challenging to ride.

But yes, run T2.

I'm running MRX02 in my RV Spec YZ125.

T2 is perfect for stock engines.

+2 main jet sizes in my yz250 going from straight c12 to T2 due to oxy content. TMR motor so requires race fuel, but the need for a fatter main due to the oxy content still applies to stock. Will be Lean going from pump to an oxy fuel.

Do those SST pipes still run way hot on yz125’s?
