I was there the last part of Dec. 07 from early 08 and remember only one Micky Ds in the Sydney area. Not a lot of American fast food in Sydney period.

That's not quite how things are ... we have constant discussions in the media about the Americanisation of Australia.

We have McDonalds, Pizza hut, KFC ... Subway and a few Starbucks. TV is 80% American:- CSI (all of them) Biggest Loser, Survivor, South Park, Family Guy, had the Bill Cosby Show, Partridge Family, Gilligan's Island ..you name it ....

We get your early morning TV shows Matt Lauer etc just before our early morning TV shows. We get benny Hinn and Anthony Robbons infomercials. Chuck Norris infomercials too.

We have flat billers and gang banger wannabes. We listen to Katy Perry, Taylor Swift Beyonce and watch American Idol.

You guys create the culture and spread it through the media. We copy the good and the bad.

Where is Dural?

I remember one Starbucks and not a single one of the others that you listed. In fact it's almost impossible to get a freaking "Black Coffee" other than some type of expresso any where around the Sydney area. I spent my time from Manley up to Kiama and I am telling you that there was little to no fast food in those areas.

I don't eat fast food here in the US so I was happy to see that the US hasn't flooded the market in that area

One in Sydney. I never got off the coastline while driving to Kiama.

That's what 30 or so in a 250 mile radius.

You are a lucky that there aren't 30 in a 5 mile radius like here in the states.

I must of been either asleep or drunk while I was in AU.

30 in such a large area isn't very many.

On that map I posted you can see Vineyard and to the right ( East) Galston. I live in that area. About 40 mis dive the to Sydney with a clear run.

As for your trip ...I can't see how you missed all the McDonalds !! If you look at the pointers there are numbers of outlets marked. You can see Manly on that map and 17 outlets in Sydney city alone.

They make a very good coffee I am told ... and have a McCafe section in most outlets with a more upmarket feel and menu. We have a lot of Gloria Jeans coffee stores.

As for Camaros and Corvettes ? Yeah. I have shipped a few of them back here as well as Mustangs and Quads .... Depends on the exchange rate. I am shipping some parts for my Suburban from the States ...a $69 non genuine fuel pump is $800 (genuine ) here ...
