Hi, I’m looking at buying a new bike for doing enduros with but also riding on a motocross track. I’m thinking a 2013 Exc but the sx are much cheaper. I have a 03 yz125 at the moment but it’s very hard to ride in the woods because it had nothing down low. I’m wondering if I put lights ect on the sx would it be suitable for enduros?I’m wondering will an sx have enough power down low for woods riding. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Also anyone who has an exc125, are they a good bike? Do they have much lowend power? All help appreciated Thanks

Why not a XC? And get a 150 if you want a little more down low.

What exactly is the difference between the xc and exc? Sorry for my lack of knowledge. Would a 150 have more down low?

You're going to have a hard time finding a 125 with much low-end power.

The XC is a woods out SX. The EXC is whole different beast. Typically street legal and tuned for long enduros

So would the xc be the one for me? Mostly woods riding and capable of enduros and the odd day at mx

I had a 125EXC and used to ride it as your going to. I did revalve the suspension though which made it better for both. It's a way better bike off road with the flywheel and wide ratio than the YZ will be, but can still moto. I still have my 200EXC but it's been apart for a while and I used to do the same with it. Maybe look at those as they have way more bottom than you would think. It was on par with my mates older CRF250 with some work on the MX track too.

I'd say so. It's not the best at any one discipline (well maybe gncc stuff) but a do all type. On the 150 it has a wider ratio gear box, a smaller carb, kick stand, big gas tank, and different suspension valving/springs. But otherwise it's a SX. IMO the wider ratio gear box is better, dont have to shift as much but the gaps arent so big it falls off the pipe.

Do you rather the 200 over the 125?

I’m starting to think the 150 so, thanks for the info

200 engine. But the 125 with conventional Marzocci 45's handled better. The amount of times it pulled me out of near death moments I used to call it Jesus.
