Hoping for the best for that kid. The way his head hit the ground in that replay , then getting carted off , didn't sit well in me. Hopefully we get some updates soon.

Same here. His head stuck in the ground like a pole vault sending him in a super quick front flip.

He hit the ground and actually got up and ran 10-15 ft to the other side of the lane and then fell down. So I think he's got movement capabilities. I'm hoping for good news.

It was not pretty, but I think Asterisk did the right thing.

Praying for Jalek. After watching an interview of him in the off-season and learning more about his life I was really rooting for him.

Hope he’s ok, I don’t know if it’s just how I was watching but they never actually played the replay

To me it looks like it was his right leg that took the worst hit. It slipped off the foot peg and augered into the ground. Then it twisted underneath him awkwardly when he was rolling away. Looks like a blown knee to me. Hopefully not much more then an acl but that was ugly.

They did play the replay, but it appears the replays were only on the US feed and not he overseas feed for some reason.

It looked to me like a bar to the chest on the replay. Maybe a punctured long or sternum issue? We watched it a few times. Looked brutal.

I think the health care professionals don´t take any risks when a rider hits the deck nasty hit like that, and try to keep the rider as stationary as possible, before further evaluation.

10 years ago I once walked into a local ER here in Finland after a nasty practice crash the day before, and when I arrived and told the nurses what had happened, they commanded me to be completely motionless, and wait for them to escort me on a stretcher, because they had seen people walking in there with broken necks, and only an inch away from paralyzing themself. The nurses said that the only thing those people usually had complained was a "weird neck pain".

I was fortunate enough to end up having "only" a couple of compression fractures in my back, and it did not require surgery, but I still remember that welcome I got there. Laughing

I really hope that this was the case also here, and Swoll is ok. Sad

Unfortunately that's what happened with his lower body at first contact but then he bounces/rolls and his upper body impact was really really scary on his chest and neck.

He did have a splint on his are when they took him away and after watching the replay his arm was flopping around when he ran off the track.

Happened right in front of us and they worked on him 10-15 minutes. All I know is what I saw, but they splinted his left arm which was up in the air when he left plus it looked like maybe his right lower leg—but couldn’t really tell. It also looked like he was able to move his extremities but again, hard to see. He was obviously in a great deal of pain. The medics did a great and careful and patient professional job.

From one of his buddies who was there with him, thankfully doesn’t sound as bad as it looked. Scary crash for sure, heal up quick Jalek!

Yeah, me too. Ive checked his twitter and instagram and nothing. Most of these guys are good about updating their status pretty fast via their social media shit. Shit happened right in from of us as well. Look nasty.

Wow, glad to hear that. A concussion is bad enough but this could have been much worse

I dig the kid. Glad he's doing ok.

As soon as I saw Hunter get that weird kick and not hit the triple you just knew shit was going to get bad.

Thank god it is not worse.

We were in the stadium watching Doctor Bodnar and every single medic take seemingly forever to move Jalek, and he didn't look too good going off on the backboard.

Thankful for the Alpinestars medical team who was there within seconds after it happened.

Get well soon young man.

Looked to be the result of Hunter not jumping the triple. The guy in front of swoll jumped left to avoid Hunter, then slightly across swoll's path. No one's fault, but shows the chain reaction that gets people not at the front of the pack.
