I’m not sure how much time “el hombre” has left with Husqi, but I think Suzuki should recruit him. He’s just what they need right now to get a little more exposure in mx/sx.

I love that '89 RM look. Great job on the graphics.

If they were to re-issue the 2008 RM125, and RM250, I'm pretty certain that would juice them up.
Suzuki's an iconic brand. Sure we'd be on bikes like we're on now anyway, but they took the first steps in 67-68 , and by 1970, that RH250 was more advanced than anything ever. I would guess that budget constraints and/or the lack of will within that division of Suzuki is why they seem to be in almost a holding pattern.

Stewart didn't take all of Suzuki's money. JS7 had nothing to do with it. Their USA car division went broke and USA motorcycle sales fell way off when the economy crashed from the real estate crash. The huge sales number of the early 2000s were fueled by people using home equity loans. When real estate crashed the motor cycle industry in the USA bottomed out. Look at road racing in America. Sport bikes stopped selling and completely ended road racing ended. They have tried to resurrect it and it's hanging on by a thread. Only Suzuki and Yamaha are participating, no Honda, Kawasaki, Ducati or Aprilla. There is very little sponsorship money coming in to the sport. JGR still doesn't have a title sponsor. We will see whatbhappens with the indians.

So KTM goes from being an also-ran to the front of the pack by changing their bike every 2 years, while Suzuki makes one set of improvements in 10 years with a bike thats 10+ pounds overweight AND it doesn't have e-start like everyone else, so it's really like 20 pounds overweight compared to Kawi, KTM, Husky...But JS7 killed Suzuki?!

Maybe Suzuki are just looking to capture the cheaper part of the market. Its pretty thick at the top. Don’t need to win races to sell good bikes for most people.

Ricky's 2005-2007 deal was rumored to have broken the bank.
They had that platform share with Kawasaki from 2004-2006 which if not for the crash, may have helped them.
KTM succeeded at that...Reason # 2,355,027...All Hail KTM...
I was makin the sh**t out of GSXR / ZX6 links back then went from 100mph to nothing.
Even still I'm amazed at the resilience of companies in general through crap like that.
Sucked whoever you were for a while there.

Best 450 ive ridden. I HATED both my kawi 450 and yz450f before this.

So easy to ride. Everyone who rides it genuinely likes it and is surprised. Power is so smooth and broad, handles unreal, tons of tractions, tracks straight, predictable, suspension is unreal after a revalve. Really a great bike. And i got it for 5999 otd...left some cash for the upgrades and dialing it in.

I had a 15 kawi before the rmz. The yz was an 04 back in about 08. I realize thats a while back but it totally turned me off to 450s. I tried the kawi after reading and seeing how many people love their 450s and how far it seemed they had come amd progressed.

The 15 kawi was a top fuel dragster off the bottom mixed with a loaded over weight dump truck with the worst suspension ive ridden. Even after 1k in the forks.

Only reason i gave the kawi a shot was like i said i figured they had come a long way and at over 200lbs i figured i "needed" a 450.

Well i still hated it. Brutal power delivery regardless of short shifting it or not i couldnt get along with it.

Went to a husky 350 after the kawi and loved it for the most part. So easy to.ride, light and fast as hell up top. Super smooth! But the low end while it made it easy to handle almost made it hard to commit to some jumps for me. The spool up was a little long for me at times.

Rode a buddies 17 crf450 and liked it, shockingly. I expected to hate it like every other 450 I've ridden. It was a little snappy still but way better than the kawis delivery. Revved so much further was actually usable.

That test ride got me thinking 450 again. Test rode a 18 rmz450. And ended up buying one within a couple weeks. Couple tweaks later its a great bike. So much more rideable then the kawi. Gentle, smooth, broad. Still plenty fast if your agressive but it alllows you to actually be in control and be smooth. And gosh it turns!!

I've heard it a lot o this forum, that if Suzuki brought back the 125, everyone would buy one.

Realistically though, how many bikes would sell? 100, 1000? I would doubt it makes sense financially to spool up production on something that wouldn't make them their money back.

I think that 2500 a year would be a hard sell honestly.

Significantly less than a YZ125, which I don't think sell in huge numbers.

I think everyone likes the idea of a 125. But once you get on one and struggle with riding it the want to have one would fade quick.

How much was your bike before taxes and what not, and where who did you buy it from?

Rode a 125 for the first time in 17 years a couple weekends ago on a sand track. Wasn’t a struggle at all. If I was just riding for fun, it would be a great bike.

Anyone know how it was possible for the RM-Z450 and 250 to get holeshots today? Asking for a friend

Pingree says in the 2018 AND 2019 RMZ-450 garage build that once you get the suspension tuned, add a Weisco piston, PC Exhaust and re-map the bike it has MORE HP than anyone would need.

I can't wait to get into the rmz250. That suspension is very workable. Finally saw one at local dealership yesterday.

Didn't all the other factory bikes they pulled holeshots over also have 40k worth of aftermarket parts?
