I'm a little anxious about my surgery on Monday. Getting my ankle cleaned up and I am now accepting positive thoughts.

The arthritis has taken over and so have the jagged bones and bone spurs. I hope this will get me back on track.

9 years ago I shattered my ankle when I over-jumped a tabletop. This will be my 5th surgery.

Not looking forward to the 8 week recovery.

Let's start with a normal ankle with normal joints.

I'm sure all will go well. I figure it can't be any worse that what you are dealing with right now, that looks incredibly painful. Good luck and stay positive!

I'm just getting back to 100% after busting myself up real good 5 1/2 months ago, now it looks like I'm rocking a fractured wrist. Strange how much we love these sports that bust us up Dizzy

Positive thoughts sent your way bud, doctors are working magic now days, you will be fine. The recovery will suck but it will go by quick. Good luck bro!

Be glad its you ankle and not your wrist. At least you ankle gets somewhat braced/protected by the modern motocross boots.

Had to chill on that a while back, came hoome to 4 cars of law coming out of my drive.

They did 15 point turns inthe narrow rd while i drove on in,they wanted me bad in the public rd to take the car apart sinse most let them search butnot me . They were mad as hell when i stopped in front of my barn.

We had words but it soon got civil and they drove out, i could see my left hand tobacco that grows across the fence
From where we stood.

After they left i saw where they had looked in ever buildind before i got home so i had to move things that nite.

Made a few practice runs because i figured they would pop me but guess they didn't put together what they saw.

Scarry day though, got a gate now.

In 2000 I did the same thing in Ocotillo but shattered my heel and tore everything in my ankle instead of breaking those bones. I have not had any surgeries. I am 46 and have good days, bad days, and some crippling days. I am interested in how your surgery goes and how your healing goes. I also have bone to bone . Sux. When cold low pressure comes I can just barely walk.

Mine looks the same. Now broke my me tarsals in same foot. My ankle is now locked up. Slowly loosening back up some. You will feel much better once done. Hopefully I can have the same done someday .

Best of luck on both your surgery and recovery. I had a similar surgery on BOTH of my ankles(bone debridement, scar tissue removal and hardware removal) at the end of June this year. It was a fairly quick recovery (2-3 weeks) but stayed off the bike for 6 weeks just to be sure. The improvement was 100% worth itSmile
That external fixator thingy looks like it would suck big time...

I'm on my way to the track and wish I hadn't clicked on this thread. Those pictures make me want to turn around and put the bike back in the garage! Heal up brother, positive thoughts sent! That pic of the fixator is going to be stuck in my head all day.

Get out there and have fun Cam!

Disbanded.....brotha , my thoughts go out to you man! Good luck on your surgery. From the looks of those X-rays.....they could do a LOT of clean up which will make it a hell of a lot more flexible and less painful I would think. Good luck man!

I can do ambivalent thoughts... not positive thoughts, however.

Hope this helps!

Disbanded and Renner153, get well soon.

Hillbilly...now that's the way to interject some humor into a thread. Classic.

Thanks guys. I'll be laid up with a cast for the next 8 days, so I might be spending some extra time on here.

It's a good thing my work requires 100% sitting.

I would agree, but there is this one really, really important thing that you rely on your ankle for...walking...

Ambivalent thoughts are thoughts too, so I will accept.

C'mon, I know recovery sucks, but unlike some of the pros who are always rushing back during the season, I'm guessing time is one thing that you have plenty of. Take your time coming back and don't be in a rush to destroy the work that your docs did.

I've been there...which is one reason why I'd guess I broke my right collarbone seven times...being in a hurry to get back to racing.

Put it out of your head and keep on riding bro.

I'd probably be smart to take that advice, but this is my first full year living in Colorado and ski season starts in like 20 days.
