Just wondering what rituals you guys do at the track on raceday or practice?

I wear the same shorts under my riding pants with the same dollar in the left pocket, Lol they don't get washed eitherSickBlink . When it's time to gear up I put my pants on then my right boot and same with my gloves. My dad passed away back in 01 so I always say a prayer to him before each moto. I know its all crazy but surely I'm not the only one?

If i get a new helmet i have to drop it, enough to give it a little scratch just to christen it. I didn't do this to my latest mountain bike helmet and crashed pretty bad the first time i wore it and ruined it. Coincidence, i think not Wink

I'll roll in the dirt with brand new gear before I even consider hopping on my bike.

I put my left sock on first to prove to myself that I am not superstitious - because if I was superstitious I would obviously put the right sock on first.

...left sock AND left boot on first for the same reason. Then once every four rides put the right one on first, for same reason.

everything right side before left side. ie right knee brace before left etc. that and check the fuel is on and choke is off on the line about 5 times... even with an efi bike with no fuel on/off valve i still try and check it on the line. force of habit i guess

I had to change my socks after everytime out during the raceday. If I did two classes I'd have to take 7 pairs of socks (1 for the ride home). Everytime I neglect to change them between times out I'd crash and get hurt I swear lol

I always do right knee brace, right pant leg and right boot first. I also say a prayer to my lil sister who passed away back in 89'.

Back in the 80's, I for some reason only had one red MX sock and one blue MX sock in my gear bag.

No biggie, just colored socks. Won both motos like it was easy.

To this day whenever I ride, I wear one red and one blue sock. For many years I wore the same red/blue socks but they finally had to be retired as there was not much left to wear.

left boot, right boot.

left glove, right glove.

if anything interrupts the glove thing, i'll take the first one off and then put it back on. i don't know why. it's just something i'm inclined to do.

LOL! you guys are fucking awesome! This is why I do my weird rituals, I went 1-1 in my regular class and went 4-4 out of 10 in open vet. I got handled by the 3 experts but me and the other Intermediate guy had a dog fight to the end. Good night of racing. This 85 beginner rider I train went 1-2 and locked up 2nd for the series. Not to shabby considering 1 month ago he was a 7-8th place rider. So stoked for the kid.

Take the visor off any new helmet everytime, right leg first in my wideleg Answer pants, cut the cuffs off my
jersey, and put # 69 on my bike. ALWAYS.

Then I shred gnar, bro!

Woohoo

Yea I don't ever say "one more time or one more lap"

Funny story, I picked up an CR85 expert for my 14yr old daughter in Feb of this yr. This is her first bike, she was about a month into riding and doing really good until.....................She said "just one more lap" end result broken growth plates in her wrist, crack in her radial arm bone and a popped tendon in her thumb. Now she never says "one more anything". She is learning the game. Pinch
