Straw hats for sunny track days

Edited Date/Time 7/23/2022 4:00pm
Straw hats for sunny track days, which are best, what are you using? Regular ball cap isn't cutting it for shade from the sun.
I'm looking on Rocky Mountain, see they sell pro circuit,, Rocky Mountain Brand and FMF Don Series hat. I've been reading reviews, their seems to be mixed reviews on these, anyone have any of these to give a review? So far, Rocky mountain brand is the best/low cost $14, and pro circuit comes in second $20.
Already looked on Amazon, Wal-Mart, those are sub par, not the right size. Ones by the 3 i previously mentioned are the perfect size.

Let me know what you got, what's good etc.

Straw or those smaller safari style hats that you can soak in cold water. I’ve used both with good results. The straw hats don’t last near as long. I got a year out of mine.

Tractor Supply, Wal Mart, Atwoods, etc.... Maybe not as highly fashionable as the above mentioned without the PC, or FMF logo, but do the trick. Relief is the key here......

The one's at Wal-Mart, are much smaller and nearly the same price as these bigger sun hat's by fmf, pro circuit and Rocky mountain. Already looked at wally world, it's a no for me going that route.

Yeah I hear ya, for $15-$20 they are worth it. My advice is stay away from the Wal-Mart stuff and small fishing style hat's they aren't big enough to cover your neck and shoulders (if you tank top it). Hemlock, fmf, rocky and pro circuit seem to be the perfect size, i believe they are all made by hemlock, but are cheaper price wise then hemlock.

I've been shaving my head for nearly 30 years, and wearing straw hats nearly that long as well. I have a hard time finding straw hats that fit my melon (8+ hat size, 3xl helmet size).

I get several of the cheap Walmart hats each year. They start out really snug but put them in water and then wear them for a half hour and they stretch a little bit.

Got a Quiksilver straw hat last year on our Hawaii vacation and it's definitely a better fitting hat, but it'd be destroyed by now if it were my go-to hat for working outside.

If I had to, I’d definitely wear one!!!!

Straw is much better than most ball caps, at least for me. With a little bit of venting in them they feel a lot cooler than a cap. And you get ear protection too!

There appears to be some cultural appropriatin' goin' on round here.

Careful all before you run afoul of the warriors.

I use both bucket style hats and the good old fashion surf straw hats when the suns a blazing.

As I sit here with a face full of stitches from skin cancer removal, all I can say is to get one and wear it. The alternatives sucks ass.
