Don't know if I remember a time where 100LL is cheaper than 91 pump.

Chevron down the street wants $5.20 for 91 and Long Beach Airport has 100LL for $4.59

Obviously other states without our crazy taxes have 91/93 for less, but fwiw a good time in Cali. for 100LL.

With $5 a gallon gas in November, wait till you see what it is like in July.

If you're heading South, Brown and Gillespie are at $4.85,
and North, Flabob is $4.65 and San Bernardino is $4.72 for 100LL

$2.85 here today.
It's more than just taxes.

Right and we also have that $.26 mystery surcharge on top as an additional fee not included in that.

The main reason I posted this is the historical oddity of 100 octane avgas being cheaper than 91 pump.

If no one beats me to it I’ll post all of the fees tomorrow as we were just shown a slide of the breakdown in Ca. with raw gasoline coming out of the refinery at ~$2.83 currently.

My friends just found the same yesterday. They brought me an empty 55gal was going to pick some up. No problems running it in the bikes? Long shelf life too right? That’s my main concern. Always end up with an extra couple gallons after a race then it sits around for a couple weeks and I have to practice with it the next time.

Expected tbh, the big corps want everything to be on a digital platform and cars will be next, the gas prices will be lifted to aid this transition.

100LL is very stable. If it's in a 55 gal drum, try to keep it in the shade to avoid large temp fluctuations and place a few 2x4's under it to keep it out of direct contact with concrete floor/slab.

Yup, very stable, no ethanol, most can mix it 50/50 with pump and get the detonation resistance they need.

Or you can run it 100% to be able to add timing.

Optimally you'd also rejet/remap A/F at that point to get the most out of it.

Off topic but that’s a MAX 10 in your photo? Are you flying it?

Yes and no, that's a 10 at Boeing, I'm flying the 8 and 9, so technically qualified but haven't flown it yet.

Where at lb airport can you buy 100LL? I live down the street and that would ideal if I could buy it there.

Nope people in Cali will never get it. Keep voting for who you do and keep getting what comes to you. Just stay in Cali and don’t ruin the other surrounding states.

Just called the place to double check and it looks like they might have closed shop (that's why the old prices)

Apparently Flightaware isn't keeping up on updating their prices but it's worth it to check.

Think airnav is more accurate and has the dates of the last quote.

Just called Ross Aviation and Signature @ LGB and both require it to go straight into the aircraft.

Not sure if this is an ops rule at LGB only or something new in Cal.,

but definitely call ahead for anyone using the flightaware/airnav links above.
