At Thunder in the sand in Wildwood N.J, J~LAW was doing laps on his bicycle on the go cart track, with the workers chasing him.

Newmann is correct.

JLaw was a wannabe Hannah. The Hurricane was the original bad boy of American MX scene, but he was also a multi time champ in the process.

Hannah never lost sight of the goal. I think he might have had a different sense of commitment too. He signed on the dotted line to win titles not fuck around. Lawrence seemed to want to take the money and not produce.
As far as guidance, he wasn't going to listen to anyone. He was the smartest guy in the room everywhere he went.
Hannah didn’t want to be welding exhaust pipes for the rest of his life. JLaw had it made. He could kick Dungey or Villos ass without trying too hard. Who else could do that???

At one of our local tracks, jay was still riding b class. A split start Moto with A going first jay passed all the way up to the leader of A, played with him for a lap, then stuffed him in the last turn and gave him the finger over the finish line jump.

I think a better comparison is Ron Lechein. Talent for days but didn't have the drive to do the work . Lechein did accomplish a hell of a lot more during his career obviously though.

I doubt J Law gave a rats ass about Hannah if he even knew who he was. The chicken was more in his wheelhouse I would say.

When you think of Pennywise , Blood for blood , Rancid , The ramones , You think punk ..... When i think of j-law i think of that exact same type of punk . He road the shit out of a motorcycle , did not care about jack , and partied like a true punk animal . He was my hero at one time . But then i grew up Smile

J-law is cool , and I would like to think if he had the chance to do it all over . He would probably change it . But then again Factory suzuki offered him a ride to race GNCC .. Their response to his counter offer was that " The guys seems to be living in a different planet " .. So who really knows for certain , I admire his riding abilities though !

Best memory was J Law winning that first moto at Glen Helen in 2008 lites class. His podium speech was just as dialed. Fun to watch for sure.

Well if you are counting regional wins and titles with there respective records......

Dungey = 8 Championships and 80 Wins, 1 Regional Title and 12 Regional Wins

J-Law = 0 Championships and 0 Wins, 1 Regional Title and 3 Regional Wins

Never Forget.

Sometimes I wish I could harness that inner NFG attitude, I've spent way too much time giving way too many fucks.

If what we were told by people close to him is true, his plan was to make enough money so he could grow and sell weed for the rest of his life.

Damn a lot of crazy stories. But my question is, how was Ryno able to make him listen to him and be fit enough to get that championship? Also saw some videos of outdoors and he was hammering it 30+ min at Glen Helen, so he should have been fit right?

Dude rode an insane amount, run the bike out of gas quite often at GH. One thing is for sure, he loved riding.

He never made enough money to retire on. One day he will reflect of his career and wish that he had done things differently. He could have had millions in the bank had he stayed humble and grounded.

He ain't a bad dude..we live and we learn.

He is no dogger. I don't think dogger was a punk and he would beat the absolute best on any day. Jlaw didn't have doggers talent.

On pulp one episode a couple years ago or so Steve asked the guest to tell there best Jlaw story... (I can’t totally remember who the guest was but I want to say it was donk) said that Jlaw would get to glen helen for testing/riding at the very end of the day when the track was at its roughest, he would be inside the van till the last minute then hop out of the back get right on the bike and go set the fastest times of the day.

I was with Jason, Josh Hill, and Ryno after whatever year it was that Jason won the SF supercross (2007?). Jason requested a handle of vanilla vodka and a liter of Dr Pepper. Pretty fun night. I liked him--zero pretentiousness and super chill.

For anyone curious, here's the ariel view of Budd's. The arrow is where he jumped onto the SX track. They built it in the infield of the speedway.
