PR:

October 11, 2011

It’s really unfortunate to have to announce this news, but due to the logistics surrounding
our 2012 team building efforts, our rider, James Stewart, will not be able to compete in
the upcoming Monster Energy Cup.

This decision was obviously a hard one, but it was made after going over the various
factors associated with keeping our program as a top-level team in the AMA
Supercross/Motocross racing categories.

“I had a real tough decision to make,” said James. “I want to race as bad as anyone, but in
the best interests of my team and the 2012 season, I have to make decisions that not
everyone will like or understand. All I can do is stay true and be honest with you all and
ask for your patience and understanding. As soon as there is news about my 2012 plans,
you'll know!”

We all would have loved to be out there competing at this event; but the consistent focus
of our camp this off-season has been centered on the preparation for the 2012 racing
season. And so this choice had to be made. Apologies to all the fans and sponsors, but at
the same time, we have to thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and support.

Sad to say...but i'm not surprised. Seems par for the course for him lately...."I'm gonna race...I want to race...gonna do everything I can to race...I'll do it for the fans"....a week before the race...."I ain't gonna make it..I really want to, but logistics/budget won't let me...sorry guys!"

Kinda sucks!

I'd guess that he fully expected his deal to be done by now. From everything I understand, it's not done yet.

I'm pretty sure logistics is a legit excuse this time...what's he supposed to do? He has no team.

Did you just copy and paste the announcements from the past two outdoor seasons?

Not surprising that Red Bull sponsored JS7, is not racing in the Monster Energy Cup

If he really wanted to race he'd buy a YZ bling it and throw down. Then he could sell it for double or auction it to charity. Anything else is bullshit. This is his job. He doesn't care about the fans. He doesn't go to work unless he needs too and it's obvious and understandable. Imagine he gets really hurt without a contract. That would be the dumbest move ever and we'd be talking about that.

All I wish is that his PR team wouldn't treat us like idiots. Be regular and consistent. He's all over the place and last minute with it. Its frustrating and I think it prohibits me from being a fan. I can't even argue on his behalf anymore. He's becoming a big clown. A joke!

I agree, in this instance....but what about every other time we've heard the same stuff over and over again?

I just wish he'd be honest...."listen, dudes, I ain't racing any races that aren't a supercross in America. I just don't want to. I'm rich, I've made all the money I need and I'm only racing supercross. Get over it". I'd like that.

Not much of a surprise, he has had ample time to get a team sorted too and dial the bike in since he didn't ride outdoors. Stewart doesn't like getting beat, if he thinks he there is a chance of losing ( esp with an in form RV on the gate) he won't ride. Hopefully he will be ready to go for 2012 though by which time he will have had enough time on the bike to where he thinks he will win!

Why? You don't think any competing company wouldn't love to steal their thunder, and have their rider pocket a million at their expense?

Ron Lechien was between contracts at the end of the season once, showed up on a bike he bought himself and won. I wish I had been around in those days.

Today, no one will dare step foot off their compound unless they are 100% prepared. Anything less and they will be barbequed by fans and media. Sure sucks the fun out of it all.

Wow, is there anyone who, even for a moment, thought there was a chance he would do this race? Seriously?

I miss his Kawi days when he had contracts, raced a lot and I was even fortunate enough to catch some in person. I miss seeing him out there...

So with that, I assume we never see James race again?

I agree it makes little sense to go out there before signing with anyone. As he negotiates with Yamaha and Suzuki, what does he ride? Whichever he chooses will harm negotiations with the other.

I'll say this though, if he is talking about riding Yamaha's I'm guessing that contract wasn't as easy to get out of as he thought.

I mean it makes a lot of sense to work hard to get out of a contract because you dislike the bike.....and then end up riding the same bike again with a new team?
