When will we get the news? They said the 15th right....the 15th is almost over here in Africa and we are pretty close to the Europe time.

Who will break the news and when?

What's that mean? This saga is really dragging out. James is a high profile athlete, so I cant see why the FIM chooses to take so long to deal with making decisions about someone's career.

They'll announce the decision a week before Hangtown.

There is no listing for any appeal on the CAS web site

So does that mean Stewart is appealing to the FIM?
The hearing already happened. So maybe thats why its not on the list any more.
But if you search the CAS site there is no mention of it at all. Makes me wonder whether he has actually appealed to the CAS.

Most likely. Right when everyone is caught up in the hype of the new season.

SOOOOO glad we have the FIM here helping out with our American series... maybe one day they will eventually get the rider turn outs down to 1/2 gates like the GP's

Friday afternoon is always the best time to release info that you don't want to make headlines.

I've tracked it from the beginning and the matter has never been listed on the CAS site as an appeal, but there are different paths to the CAS and perhaps this is in a category that's tracked differently. The original FIM announcement noted it would go to CAS one way or another. There's an article in this CAS publication that outlines the processes from an arbitrators view. http://www.tas-cas.org/fileadmin/user_upload/Bulletin_2014_2.pdf

These sorts of tribunals do allow the participants a fair amount of latitude in how they design the way the dispute will get decided.

BTW they listed a new decison this morning, not the Stewart one. The hearing for the case took place in January, and all that was announced today was the result; the announcement notes that a full written analysis wouldn't be released until later.

So, basically we`ll have a decision around the time his initial suspension will end. 200 grand down a drain.

I'm sure the decision will be told to JS7 before it's announced on the web. I hope that I'm wrong because he is my favorite rider but I have a feeling he will not be cleared until August 20th.

No, not certain. Some cases are complicated and some straightforward, and some arbitration/appeal panels are more efficient or hardworking than others.

But it is the case that turning a decision around so quickly after this hearing was held would be pretty quick.

Anyone who appeals anything risks putting 200 grand down the drain. Losing at the first stage is usually an indication that you've got a tough row to hoe that gets even harder at the next stage.
