I'm not a hater at all. If Vegas had a betting line for a DNF first race back, I'd take that action. That would suck to have all this hype and uncertainty only to have him crash or pull out of the race. Again, not hating, just drawing on past showings. Don't wanna rile the Stewart fans up..

At this point, nobody is expecting wins. All we want is effort. Just a little. Just enough that it makes it even look like he wants to give the fans a final farewell. If that is too much to ask; well, that'd be a damn shame..

Racing has been great without him, not sure what version would show up if he did race, I have a pretty good spot for him in my mind, I'd like him to stay there.

He gave many good years to the craft, made moves and did things that blew away his peers, and us.

No need for James to compete any more.

Love to see him ride again.

What a big ass slap in the face for his fans though.

Yeah, and he can't win right now. I don't think he can ever win again. I'm not hating at all, I just personally don't believe he could keep up to Dungey, Tomac, Musquin, Anderson or Webb. We all know he doesn't have the endurance to run with these guys but I highly doubt he even has top 15 speed now.

I personally would like to know where the "he'll be back at Daytona" talk started. People were saying Oakland at first and someone asked Mookie and he said "Around Daytona" but I don't think anyone has said that he will be back for Daytona for sure.

He needs 25-30 points to keep #7 for next year?
He will race just Daytona and hope to get Factory program for next year?
If Roczen can't come back 2018 they will take him?

Ah its good to have J Stewart topic running hot for least one week more!

He's done.
Just not ready to accept it by the looks of it.

I think he has given his fans plenty to watch over the years. He has a bunch of concussions that prove that he gave you everything he had every time he lined up. Might be time to start watching old videos.

X3. But, the payoff at the end can be a little less than desired!

Nothin' like mixing up Natty Light and Dinty Moore in the ol' system! I think this thread should be retitled to "Stew gurglings"
