Since the rise of star racing yamaha in 2014 not one of there prospects have gone on to be successful on the factory Yamaha. Webb didnt do well for the 2 years he was there, and so far Plessinger hasnt been close to as good as many thought he would be.
Will Ferrandis be the first to make the jump form yamaha 250 to 450 and be a race contender?

Plessenger in my opinion is one of the "lower" elite talent to win a 250 SX title.
I think that injury last year set him back big time but I think he’s been really down on confidence in the 450 class.
I think just give him some more time and maybe a team switch and he will come around.
They both did well on the Yamaha and won.
I know you're focusing on the Yamaha 450, but maybe you should focus on the Star YZ250F and how GOOD it is.

You don't just burst back on the scene and start gathering wins and titles that quickly. Seems a lot of that came to a point last year when the bike setups were so off, they had to get TPreston in to ride the bike after Washougal to confirm "yeah, this has gone sideways." Anyone that races that YZ450F at a high level has said with the way the motor and chassis layout is, there is a very fine line between "great" and "not so great" with changing certain setup things. Attention has reverted back to using the stock bike as a baseline, rather than just slapping parts on it left and right first, and having no clue where to revert back to afterwards.
Behind closed doors he has nothing good to say about Yamaha.
I've never ever heard a rider say his new bike is so much better than his old bike before either.
I think DeCoster has been impressed by Cooper's commitment at the MXdN. I am not saying it is a done deal either but it is always better to impress that Man than not ! Yes the team in the Netherlands was not lucky, but they gave 100%, coming in weeks earlier which was a first and Cooper even raced both motos with a broken hand after a freak racing incident. Those may be strong points the day he moves up in 2 or 3 years (he's still very young!).
EDIT: by that i mean he is maybe watched to replace Musquin when he retires.
