What would they get out of that? What is the upside?

Well John Short would maybe, maybe be a fill in that would be worth it. Cartwright hasn't made a main this season?

Yeah my vote would also go to Reardon.

He knows the bike and the team and he is capable of getting finishes inside the top 10, maybe even top 5 in a best case scenario.

Exactly, he’s plug and play, with the higher upside and result potential.

Might be an issue with his Fasthouse contract. Not sure Kenny would let him out of it for a fill-in ride.

Call Carter Halpain up for Outdoors. Finish SX with Reardon and John short on the East coast.

If they still need someone when the outdoors are kicking off then: Benoît Paturel. But he lacks SX experience. If he would have a off season to learn no problem. But to fill in without preparing and with only one sx race under his belt in 2017. That would be madness. But for outdoors, if still needed, he would be a great pick. He knows YZ250f Yamaha bikes.

im Sure it was a Yamaha team for the AX series over there then came home for the split rythem one off event in Aus and didn’t drop a race all weekend, not sure of he has a ride lined up in Aus. Abuse he wants to just SX so could be a good fit especially if it’s a fill in only gig

Wil wouldnt be eligible to race a 250 in sx since hes won a championship. That would be really cool if he could though.

Cartwright was a lap away from a top 10, give him a chance on it for the rest of the season.

That would be awesome if they could get it done, but i think it would open up some problems. If they let Hahn race a 250 again, what if Pourcel decided he wanted to come back and race a 250 too, would they have to let him? Or what if Weimer wanted to race one again? I would like to see them race whatever they want. If Weimer could find a good 250 ride then go for it. But imo if they let Hahn do it, then i dont see how they could say no to any other past champ.

In this and two years coasts are gone, SX250 is a national championship and riders like Davalos won't need to be worried to be kicked out. Because the championship will be equal to the 450. I mean Equal like Formula 2 or Formula E to Formula 1. If you're sick of F1 you can drop down to FE or F2 without problem, with a big pay cut. And to be honest how many races can Will race without getting injured? I remember him not even getting true practice a few times...

But a other thing, why is everyone ignoring mine post about Paturel. He rode the Yamaha for years and if they know that someone of their riders will not be healed up by the time the Outdoors start, they should call the men in black. He would be a good replacement rider for any team in need for a 250 rider, if you can call him now because he's not in the best of shape, or maybe it's that 450...

I'm pretty sure Paturel was the one that almost got kicked out of GH at the USGP a couple years ago for making some pretty rude/sexist comments and getting into it with a security guard...that chatter got around the pits quickly. Secondly, his split with BOS and the way it's been talked about happening isn't helping his case. I could see why he's not being heavily considered especially if no one in Europe is willing to pick him up...

Secondly, the team issue on hand is more to get through the end of Supercross, they'll have enough riders by outdoors to make their minimum sponsorship requirements. If they just need to fill the spot for the five East rounds left and the overall position isn't a huge deal, they'll go to a privateer that's already on Yamaha and around (much cheaper).

Well John Short would maybe, maybe be a fill in that would be worth it. Cartwright hasn't made a main this season?

Both Short and Cartwright are college students and pro Supercross racers. This is something that has NEVER really been done successfully....and for a good reason......it's almost impossible to manage. The story is the upside. It's an interesting idea but probably not a reality. Hartranft and Renzland are probably faster than both of them.

We've known Short since his amateur days on an 85. He's a bright, super nice kid, and fast on a dirt bike.

Look for a Fox Sports 1 story on Cartwright this coming weekend as they shadow a day of his training and classroom schedule.

Full disclosure, dad is biased.

Rock River has sponsor obligations as well, giving him up isn’t likely unless there was a suitable replacement...and then he’d go back to them for outdoors...I don’t see that happening but I could be wrong.

He would have been a good choice for the 450 ride over at Yamaha as well if they decided to run a fill in for Barcia.
