Have you guys seen the prices for these things yet??

18” $2650
20” $3100

Am I nuts for thinking these are ridiculously over priced??

They are very over priced. But people will buy them. My 8 year old wants one bad but he just got a TTR 110 🤷‍♂️

Ya we were ready to buy my son a 16” Stacyc Summer of 2020, but when we were ready to get one they had just switched to the new brushless motor so instead of $600 we were looking at $950. We went with the SSR 16” since it was $500. My kid loves it.

No way in hell I’m paying $3100 for that 20” Stacyc. I’ll buy my kid a brand new 65 for a little more. At least the 65 is worth the money.

I got my boys the Apollo electric bikes which I believe are the same as the SSR. They love them and I think I paid like $400 and $350 for the 16” and 12”? I could be a little off on those prices it was last Christmas (2020) but yeah, I got both of them for the price of one Stacyc and quite honestly I don’t see how they could be any better for what we use them for. We have had absolutely no issues with the Apollos in the past year and a half and the boys abuse the crap out of them.

We sold a bunch of the Apollo Sednas and wow what a great value they are

Wow that’s double what I thought they’d be. My boys were all excited after seeing the commercials but that’s too expensive.

I agree they are a great value. I guess I take back the “no issue” thing. The only issue we’ve had is with the charger, not the bike itself. The chargers are garbage. I’ve had to replace 3 of them already and they’re like $35 shipped from Canada. For some reason they just stop working. 🤷‍♂️ If you happen to know of any other brand chargers that work I’m all ears 😂

Don’t know of any others that will “ work” in place of the stocker but I can check our distributor to see if the pricing is any better than Canada

I was figuring maybe $1300-$1400 for the 18” and $1600ish for the 20” thinking those prices would be somewhat reasonable. Boy was I wrong….

I purchased the smaller Stacyc for 700 for my grandson last year. I was expecting the same price you all were, 1300-1600 for the 18-20”. I just can’t see spending that much for that no matter how cool it is. My buddy gladly just bought another one the other day.

What is the point of the 18" and 20" models. Shouldn't the bigger kids be on something else? I thought they were made for first time and really young riders.

He has a we the people and fit bike Co 18" bikes one for my house and one for his mother's.
If you have never been to rays there isn't much pedaling, but one of these would be wicked fun.

the original builder of the Stacyc did it with the intent of providing something small and light for littles to ride on, a pw50 weighs something like 90lbs and kids small enough for them weigh around 50-60lbs.

these bikes are kind of straddling the world of bikes and motorcycles and i imagine bikes like these are going to make their way farther in the world of bicycles as they will provide more versatility and usability as they just arent big enough to be a dirt bike. but USABMX is already incorporating the 12 and 16 into the rules and i imagine these will find a spot too.

Why would you buy 18 or 20 stacyc without suspension? You get kids E-MTB bike, E-Motocross bike or KTM SX50 for same money.

I would buy an oset long before one of these. I stay away from China stuff but my daughter ended up with a Apollo Sedna 16 for $430. I just couldn't justify over 1000 bucks for a strider bike with an electric motor.

Nope your not nuts, I've bought two of the originals when they came out for my sons, This seems to reach into a different territory. I get they may come with some trick stuff as that video showed but still. I feel this defeats the purpose of what it was supposed to be, a decently priced starter to get kids involved. I will just buy him the electric KTM at this price.
