St. Louis area lodging...help

We were taking the 5th wheel and staying in Wildwood at the state park but the hydraulic slideouts are acting up...
So...now scrambling for lodging.
Can someone suggest a nicer ...ie..SAFE...place for a family of 5....?
Heading up there this afternoon....
Any help would be appreciated.
(looking online can be very deceiving if you are not familiar with the area... It would be like someone coming to Memphis and staying near Graceland....bad idea.
