ET3 laps up to 7th, 20 sec lead over Anderson who had a 20 second lead on Musquin. 5th was 40 seconds down...

VS Triple Crown

Different moto winners in each class with gnarly passes and high intensity racing with minimal loppers.

Standard format is a snooze fest... I nodded off several times during that “race”. Hopefully they’ll bring more of the new format in for 2019 before the rest of the fans leave. Anyone notice the lack of fans in that stadium?

Just happened to be a super boring race due to the way they started. Just so happened tonight they pretty much started perfectly in order with their speed on this particular track. That happens sometimes. Makes for a boring race I agree.

Get rid of the lappers, the tuff blocks, the quads, jigger the points and the single moto format......

Triple crown is too many races if you're gonna do olympic style scoring. Two mains each class, BOTH count for full points. 13-15 minutes each main. Fuck it, give a couple extra points for the heat winners as well. Fight me

I love supercross. I love st Louis. However, that was the most boring main I have ever seen in person.

SX needs way more social media reports at the midway point, that is must see TV.

I guess you didn’t just see one of the most dominant Supercross rides of all time? Just watching Tomac ride like that is entertaining enough for me. The way he was tripling that 3-5-3 section after the big triple was incredible. Nobody was doing it.

I don’t need back and forth racing when I’m watching literal art in motion. Perhaps you might like NASCAR better with its manufactured drama?

No, actually I didn’t because they were doing their best to try to find some battles back in the pack to keep it as interesting as possible. So there was very little coverage of your man crush. The only thing exciting about tonight’s racing was watching Bowers punt Reed for like 15th place! lol

Yeah let's screw with a system that's a proven winner. And let's screw Eli for being so good. That's fair. Trophys for ALL

We were in the stands. Place was not very full.
The Pieck/Baggett battle was interesting for a couple of laps till Baggett starting losing it in the whoops.

Eli got the holeshot, watched for a few laps, and somewhere between lap 3 and lap 27 I have no recollection. Woke up and they were interviewing Anderson for 2nd. Naps are healthy.

If it’s a proven winner system... why are the fans not showing up?
I would be the very last person to want everyone to get a trophy. Triple Crown just offers more opportunities to see more intense racing. Boring doesn’t sell seats and grow the sport... boring let’s a sport die a slow painful death. Last I checked... fan base and amateur racing base is disappearing.

First off, not every race is going to be great, and the scoring system, although very easy, is confusing already for the general population. If a guy makes it boring then your not watching the whole ordeal, there's always something going down with that many pros all trying to beat each other, granted the lead is the most important, but we've had plenty of great racing this year, and sometimes a guys just way better, it's been like that for ever, and the triple crown would definitely punish the top ten, especially tomac right now. OK, now we go to the Am's, there's lots of reasons why they keep shrinking, but the first and foremost is electronics, I'm 45, grew up w atari, before atari, I was playing sports 24/7. After atari, I started staying in a few hours a day to play vids. Add in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and of course the Internet, where our target demographic will watch porn, and the kids are splitting too much time. Add in scared, broke, and shitty parents and you'll see why. Sorry, but parents used to spend way more time w their kids. The sport is growing on TV every year, this is good the way it is-

Proven to be boring! How could you draw anyone new to the sport after watching that? Amateur racing is dying and the stadiums are not selling out. Countless people that are not diehard fans but like to watch racing complain about the lcq’s and only want to see the main event.

I understand the privateers need a chance to hone their skills but that is what the daytime qualifying is for. If you are dropping several hundred dollars to take the family to a SX race you want to watch great racing.

This is part of the issue right here. The TV guys don't know what is exciting. If the battle is for 6th, you show them not Eli riding around.

Tonights race was horrible. I quit watching it about half way and worked on my truck. Went and checked results and everyone finished in the same spot when I quit watching. The stadium didn't look even half full. We need excitment in order to keep TV ratings up and fans in the stands. Most of the stadiums have been very empty this year. I just think supercross is slowly dying off.

I disagree, the start is wayyyyyyy to important. If Eli or a few others don't get the good start you get to watch them move through the pack in the current format, in a 8 minute race they haven't got a chance. Tonight the best guys got great starts, which made for what you consider a boring race, but I didn't hate it, and I loved watching Eli ride tonight, I ride and can appreciate the skill bring shown. Again, your going to get run aways in every sport now and then. Today's instant gratification and 13 second attention span society won't give it a chance, watch closely, even on a night like tonight there's tons of guys pulling huge jumps, crazy corner speeds, and some bar banging.

Check back next week for Bitchin' session on the east/west race. Nobody was upset when RC or JS were waxing the rest of the riders that lined up.

It was a pretty boring one. Some times that happens though. Great ride for Mookie getting into top 10 with an injury.

But yeah, overall, not a great race. And I love Ralph and Jeff but it is hard to keep something like that sounding exciting but they were pretty bored sounding themselves. This is where we need the Damiani/Holley or Weege/Holley to keep us interested with more stats and info and excitement.

No worries. These races happen. Bring on the 250 East/West.

If we only had triple crown formats we wouldn't have amazing comebacks like we did last week in Daytona or last year in SLC. It's racing, not scripted drama. Some races are going to be very exciting and others not so much.

People watch golf, lawn bowls, sliding something on ice while someone sweeps, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc..

The TRACK was very hard to pass on and only on 2 jumps could they make time, from my ph, so hard to tell....

But ffs triple circus, no thanks
Next you'll be wanting clowns on the side of the track razzing the "un-popular" rider..

I can live with the occasional boring race - it happens in all sports. Compared to the early 2000s or even the RV years, the racing has been close and unpredictable fairly often for a couple years now. But Christ Almighty get Ralph out of the booth. It's twice as bad when the race is a snoozer because he will die before he speaks like a normal human or even a normal sports announcer. Nice guy I'm sure, but it is so far past time.
