Look what I found amongst my travels in Southern California today... The production 2017 Honda CRF450R is out in the wild! (Sorta...)

I was able to snag a few shots before it was hidden away. So check out our observations of the bike... Spring forks, electric start, hydraulic clutch? What made it to production? Click through to find out...

I'm having a flashback to my 88 CR250, best looking Honda in years.

Not sure why, but I noticed the pipes in the silencer are different diameters. A quick google search, it doesn't look like that on the 16's. Definitely a good lookin' scooter!

It's more noticeable on this model, but Honda has always done it to a degree. It forces a bit more flow through the left exhaust (which has a bit total length to it due to the split pipe) It evens out the exhaust flow between the two cans, I believe.

I don't think this is that exact bike... Also, to add to the person that asked earlier, I don't believe that was Freddy on this bike. Didn't seem like his style.

I dont mind the new ride, the red as someone says above reminds of the blood red 88's....so no dramas there, dont like the graphics but who gives 2 hoots about them, easily changed if need be, dont care if no hydraulic clutch or ES (but happy if ES is an option as rumored), the 10% extra puts it on par with KTM so lets hope that happens. All in all looks nice and innovative. oh oh and spring forks too eh? Lets hope they are on par with the SSS's then lol

p.s. forgot to ask above, did she sound throatier (i.e. more barkier) than the '16 it was with on the track? I guess that might not mean anything tho lol

Nice! Apart from the twin pipes. Never been a fan of 2 pipes, either aesthetically or in terms of weight.

Can't wait till someone crams a 2stroke motor in that. It'll be interesting with the shock and air box arrangement. Good job ML! Nice to finally see Hondas latest offering. Hope it stacks up to the rumors.

That's what it is! I couldn't quite put my finger on what I liked about this bike, but that has to be it. Seems a bit odd that there's no Honda wing on it, though.

Good job, ML.

Looks pretty nice. Not a huge fan of the black disc guard or the red fork covers, but those are easily changed. Bummer not to see electric start though, really think that's the future.
