My F-150 EcoBoost got pushed all over the road with our 30’ tow behind toy hauler, and after airbags and other mods - it still walked all over the road (on top of 5 mpg towing and a 24 gallon tank. Blink )

Had an XLT Power Stoke picked out, but my wife said “Are you going to be happy with that? Just get that one over there and be done with it!”..... I didn’t ask twice and brought her home today in the snow.

2019 F-350 Lariat Sport FX4
6.7 Power Stroke - 3.55 - 48 gallon tank

Bonus points for the big fuel tank. I hate having to stop and fuel up. Thank goodness the Tundra has a 38 gallon tank with its 13.4 mpg average...not towing.

Sucks about the Ecoboost only pulling 5mpg. I believe it though, the 2008 6.4 Super Duty diesels pulled about the same with that same size trailer behind it.

Yeah, delete and void the warranty. Might as well go find a 7.3l instead of that beauty. Probably using it for it's intended purpose and it will be OK, Mall crawling and never ever putting a load on it is when all the problems start.

Thanks fellas!

They call it Silver Spruce. It looks grey in overcast and at a glance, but a tint of green in the sun. Reminds me of a Dark Olive military color.

I have the opposite experience. The reason you need the warranty is to fix the emmissions systems. The rest of the powertrain is very reliable.

Emissions have come a long way in recent years. I deleted my 2012 Cummins shortly after purchase. Nice truck!

I find it funny when people buy these small engined piles, only to realize that once you have more than groceries you're WFO all the time instead of barely in the throttle.

Or like you before, they buy a rig thats not built for what they want and have to add all kinds of shit to try and make it better......

I read on here People putting air bags on a prius for example...

FYI, I’m friends with a Cummins sales rep, and he informed me that federal law requires manufacturers to warranty emissions equipment for a period of 5 years regardless of miles on the truck.

Nice!

I have the same truck, just 8 years older... Haha!

2011 F-350 Lariat Crew Cab Long Box 6.7L with around 130k. I am the second owner but the truck has been flawless for me. Zero emissions control issues like others have mentioned.

My only complaint is re-gen due to the fuel mileage hit you take. Once I can justify the cost I'll be doing an exhaust swap and full emissions delete. However I wouldn't recommend doing this before warranty expires.

You really will love the truck even in Michigan winters, I was a touch nervous with Minnesota winters and -40C mornings but the 6.7L has always started strong and the in cab electric heat is a blessing.

I dread the day i have to replace my 2000 7.3. I pull 7500 lbs and get 15.2 mpg. Have 132k on the clock and she still gets 18.4 empty around town and 22 roughly highway empty. Airbags, brake assist, air ride 5th wheel, upgraded brakes. K&N filter. Loud but drives like a dream

So your saying not towing or putting any abuse on it is bad? My buddy has deleted and tuned multiple newer diesels with no issues and he only “mall crawls” Whistling

^^ I think what he was saying was that ya got get em hot for them to regen properly.
I opted out of the diesel whe I got my recent HD Ram because of my driving habits. Less than 5mi or so to most of my destinations. I would have to purposely go for drives just to regen the damn thing. DOH!

To OP: Looks awesome. Love the color.

beautiful truck, i really like the new super duty trucks and love that color.

my Ecoboost is about to be traded in as well. i'm thinking a new Chevy or Ram diesel though as i'm done with the Ford dealer around here.

as for the Eco, i have the same experience. 7 mpg towing but i had plenty of power. airbags, tuner, you name it. great truck for the last 6 years but it's time for a more efficient puller.

You can buy a small house for the cost of that booger. Very nice ride.

I can't believe some haulers get worse fuel economy than my friggin semi trucks. My personal semi averages 8 and the company driver gets 6mpg.

More powerful engines(bigger) engines work less hard is my theory.

For example, my truck barely changes with a 10K trailer from empty. At 14,000 with the 3 axle toyhauler, its less, but not that bad.

My old 24 Valve Cummins was 22 empty, 18 towing the 3 axle. The last one sad to say is barely better than a 6.4 Hemi and not worth the extra cost.....

To be honest, the diesel emissions has killed the mileage. Im curious if Ford still drops the 7.0 gasser. That would interest me. GM should bring back the 8.1 but the 502 Crate/Marine engine. With a turbo or blower too.

800 HP and ~ 800 Ft lbs with minimal boost..........sign me up.
