We always like to see new smokers keeping the dream alive so thought we'd share what we picked up today, 2022 YZ250! Woohoo Seat bolts into the rear guard not the subframe....yikes Dry

I can't find the seat bolt. Does it go up through the fender into the bottom of the seat? If it's another one of those little 8mm bolts that are on the rest of the rear fender I'd make sure to buy 10 more for when it inevitably comes loose and falls out.

The bolt comes down through the seat into the fender. It's the bolt at the back of the seat and it's 'captured' by the bolt and housing next to it, if that makes sense. There is no risk of it falling out!

Congrats on the new smoker, looks awesome!!
However, they should have just copied KTM and had the seat bolt come up thru the underside of the fender and attach to the seat base like the 2013 150SX in your profile pic. Looks much cleaner and less of a hassle when changing seat covers.

I'm still scratching my head about the seat. How the F do you tighten that bolt if it's under the seat, but goes into the fender from the top down? I must be misunderstanding this whole process.

Killer decision on buying real 250s. I want one!

There is a hole in the seat cover with a little plastic cover (looks like the Yamaha logo) that snaps in place to hide the bolt. Open the cover, and the bolt head is right there.

The seat bolt and cover are pretty cool looking, changing seat cover is going to be a bitch though

Great design. Opens up a myriad of possibilities for truly keeping a rider from sliding around on the seat . . .
