Iast bike I bough was a 250f...politically incorrect for a speak with the wallet deal, but I didn't know that then..
Anyway I've been looking for a used 06 or newer 250 2t, but the prices here are stupid...better off just getting a new one.
Its June and run out deal time.Got this 17 for $9.5k which is actually pretty cheap, they usually want $11k or more...You can almost always buy a current 450 cheaper..
Here in aus, we are fortunate that Yamaha australia throws in a '' Race kit '' which consists of a full HGS exhaust system, GYTR holeshot device, 51 tooth rear sprocket a bunch of Yamalube products a full gasket set, piston kit and assorted jets includinng a different needle..
Not gonna ride it for a while, will pull it down and grease it up, send the cylinder and head of to MCD Racing for porting and head mods, fit a v force reed block and a Vortex ignition.. Always wanted a modded 250 but only ever done it with a 125 before.

I'm still trying to get used to my 450, I've put a Zeta lowering link on it, remapped to the MXA setup, .46 fork springs ( which has transformed the handling and taken away the harshness of the forks..I'm little and light )
got a gytr heavier flyheel coming for it...
It's getting there...I enjoy tikering and experimenting.
Liking the 450 more than the 250 f at the moment..havent had much opportunity to ride it..

Anyway...when my missus gets home from visiting family , I am surely 'Fuuuuuuuuuucked'' !
My mate Carl says to tell her I alwasy had 4 bikes...she woon't know any differentt...
gonna find out sunday i guess!

Will take a while before I can do all that to this 250 ,plus I gotta rebuild the 125, already have all the parts though..
Gotta shear a shit load more sheep so I can buy a redshift MXR...That's for sure gonna happen before christmas..want one bad!

Nice bike!

You Aussies got it made with everything the Australian distributor does for Yamaha, wish they did it across the pond!

Yes we are lucky like that, you used to be able to buy a YZ 144 off the floor..don't think any other country had that

I’m glad I’m not the only that has a garage full of bikes. Hopefully you ride yours more than I do mine.

I will get the opportunity to ride quite a bit soon.
Probably wont ride this new 250 a lot, I will spare it the practise hours and mostly race it.
Tend to ride the 450 a lot, wont ride the 125 a lot once I've rebuilt it. Wanna keep it for the 125 gold cup races at the nationals next year. Only did the one round this year, my riding is shit at the moment so Im not racing again till I can get in the practice to make it worth while

Oh, and you can drop the "politically" from the title also!!!!!!!

Speaking with your wallet by buying a 2 stroke has always just been correct......

Man, that's still $7000 USD (9500 AUS = 7022 USD) for a '17. A little pricey, but from the looks of that garage, it looks like you're not having any problems with it.Cool Awesome Rides!

The Vortex runs around $700 in the US.

Anyone have experience with the performance gains to be had out of them? Or the stock maps that come with it?

A fairly pricey upgrade.

192!

Jody's number!

Oh well, there ya go...never even thought sbout that V192 is my Victorian race number allocated to me by MAV in 2016 when i got back into racing.
The V is for Vet. In Vic , vet class racers get allocated V numbers. 1 thru 10 are reserved for top 10 in vic titles over 40 class. I was 14th or something last year and could hav a 2 digit v number if I want, but I think its a bit wanky this whole desire to have a 1 or 2 dugit number..Ill just stick with V192, besides, I can use the same number in the nationals .If I had a 2 digit number I wouldnt be allowed to run it, necessitating spare plastic with a different number and the added expense

Cause Im soon going to be mostly living in a shipping container home / workshop at my friends new ride park, opening hopefully next weekend.
He only has a permit for Wednesday's, Saturdays and Sundays . If I have an opportunity, I will ride every day, the rid shift wont be heard off in the distance where the complainers live, plus yhere are other reasons I want one, but mostly because I can ride any time I like without bughing anyone

Well I had to go away sunday for work before she got back, so I chucked an old bed cover over the bikes.
Seems to have worked,if she spotted that new bike she hasn't said anything...brilliant bit of camouflage!

Update...Ive had this new bike about 6 weeks now and the bed cover camouflage continues to work.I was out in the garage the other day with the bed cover off of it, when I heard her coming, I shit my dacks and scrambled to get it back on , was half on when she came in.
I distracted her by saying " hey ,you wanna go down the pub for a drink this arvo? " totally worked...she still hasn't noticed it.
Now she's gone away for a month ,so I'll get it out and start greasing the linkage and stuff..
