Just picked this up from a fellow vital member!! I’m so stoked. Already have parts on order from RM and I’ll be doing a little budget build in the next few days.

Are you planning on putting the '06+ forks? Keeping the stock plastic look or buying the new conversion kit to modernize it?

YZ 250. Can't go wrong with that bike. It's solid.

Forks, I don’t plan on yet. It’ll be a while until I get to do that. Plastic conversion kit I already ordered along with a top end kit haha. I’m pretty stoked to ride this thing.

Is this your second ride or your only bike? What were you riding before or are still riding? 1st YZ? 1st two stroke? Hope not or else you've been missing out on a lot of fun.

You'll have a blast on that thing guaranteed.

I just sold my 14 yz450 on Friday. I now have this yz250 and a 98 yz250 that I haven’t ridden yet. I can’t wait to ride the two back to back and see the differences. The 98 has 05 forks as well.

I’ve ridden my buddies 13 yz250 a few times so I knew what I was missing out on haha. I’m not racing much at all anymore and just want to have fun

I’ll bet it’ll be a little budget build, since that bike looks brand new.

Definitely only a little budget build. Plus I'm limited on funds anyways haha

Congrats man. I also sold my 14 YZ450 to get my 16 YZ250. Super fun. See you at the track.

Thanks! I really didn't want to sell my 450 because I loved everything about it, but we are trying to buy a house so the deal was if I sold the 450, I could be a 250 as long as I had a certain amount to put away for the house. Thankfully, Sumdood came along in one of my posts and here we are. Look forward to seeing you and your 250 at the track

Nce! I understand what your wallett is saying as I am fluent in Braaap.

As a side note, I have an ‘05 with the ‘05 forks and I like them. I would say at least give them a try. SSS’s are good but I thnk the blind switchouts(similar to those that send their forks in, first thing, without having even ridden with them) may be premature as you dont get a baseline for comparison purposes. Just my .02 cents.

So far that’s the plan. I’ve got a 98 with 05 forks that are set up for my weight and everything so I’m going to ride them and see how I like them before dropping money on sss forks

Is buying a 13 year old used bike really speaking with your wallet? A new 2018 off the showroom floor would seem to me like that was "speaking with your wallet?'
