2018 300 XC
- Soon to add lights and be 100% street legal
- First time since 1999 there is not a Kawasaki in my garage

Biblical amounts of rain in PA, so first ride is going to be a mudder

Right on! I have the same bike! A few tweaks and it's a riot on the track! It's definitely my favorite bike I've owned to date. Congratulations!

Yep, no more Kawi’s in the garage. I actually was not going to buy this until next year, but the KX’s sold in only a few days.

Squirreling...I will always be a Kawi guy haha.

What powervalve setup are you running? I have not ridden it much yet, but it feels a bit rich off idle.

I'm running the yellow spring right now. I also have an RK tek head and a smart carb. The bike runs really clean! The red spring was great on sandy track we have out here. I didn't love it on some of the technical single track we have out here.

I expected to open this thread and see a 19 KX450...I think I'll go in my corner and cry now. Joking aside, Congrats on your new steed, that's one helluva nice ride.

I bet that hurt a little bit seeing the green ones drive away!
A new husky 300 parked next to me today at the local riding spot and Dang that thing sounded great.! Wanted one bad today. Ride report when you get some time on it.

That's awesome. I just brought home the same bike earlier this week. Checked the reeds (they were good) and installed a JD jet kit. Motorex 60:1. Red spring. The bike is crisp!

A couple of my riding buddies also purchased new KTMs recently. Had starting troubles and poor throttle response. Ended up being bad reeds.

Here's PV Spring info:

Beautiful bike! I have an 18 Husky TE-300 and it’s by far THE best bike I’ve ever owned. KTM/Husky really knocked it out of the park with these new generation 2-strokes.

You’re going to love the bike. Congrats!

Congrats dude. What a great looking bike! I love the idea of making it 100% street legal. Are you going the street and trail route? or supermoto route?

Can you run an XCW light kit or do you have to go aftermarket to get the little turn signals and all that?

Thanks for all the kind words bros. Flash flood warnings all day today, so I doubt I will get to try her out....Want to wait for the pipe guard to show up anyway.

@JWACK I was pretty bummed seeing my 125 go away...I had a pile of man hours into that bike. But, I think I made the right choice haha.

@Broseph Thanks for the insight, I will ride the bike stock and start to shake it down from there. Both of my friends are also running the red spring.

@Donovan759 I will be going with a street/trail setup. I want to run a few enduros and you around here you have to be plated for the big events. I have three friends who have them street legal, and surprisingly, it is a fairly simple process. Iwill start a bike build thread when all the parts show up.

@Moto96 The XC-W headlight bolts right on. I actually bought one when I picked the bike up.The XC's actually come pre-wired for a headlight and blinkers too. If you put an XC-W headlight on you also must put and XC-W front brake line on, as it is longer.

Update: I’ve got all of the street legal goodies installed. Lights can be removed in under 10 minutes for track days.

It has been monsooning here lately. So today was the first day I got to do a shakedown run. I cannot believe how much of a tractor this bike is. It just hooks up and drives in the nasty technical stuff. I cannot believe I did not buy on sooner. I have not touched the powervalve, jetting, or suspension yet. Then engine almost feels electric...plus no vibration.

It is a bit rich in the mid, thinking of dropping the needle and maybe a smaller pilot. But, it isn’t THAT bad. No idea where the powervalve is...but it is smooth.

Rear suspension is good, need to add a bit of rebound control. Did not have enough air in the forks, was riding a bit low in the stroke...but should be great after a bit of setup. I’ve got 1.5 hours on it today. So it is time to set the sag and start playing with clickers.

This bike is amazing.
