I had a buddy make me an offer for my 2017 250 Husky that I couldn't refuse. So I figured it was time to go back to a 125. 2021 Beta 125RR Race Edition.

First race is Sunday. I have to try to find time to break it in in the next couple days.

Good luck at the race. I'd like to hear a ride report at some point.

You will have a blast on it. My friend has one got it a few months ago. Put this fresco pipe n silencer on it.

Besides the pipe has racing harness installed 19 rear wheel 38mm pwk short body with jd jet kit. It's setup more for track use. Haven't ridden it with the pipe n carb change yet. Stock it rips so can't wait to see what the pipe n carb will do.

That is a great looking bike. Would be perfect to ride through the woods here.

The 200 is the woods weapon! Free revving like the 125 up top but the torque similar to a 300!

My plan is to install the race harness, Scalvini pipe (maybe silencer), and hopefully a VHM head.

These mfgs are really taking this flat seat society thing really seriously. Does anyone think that seats this flat put you in a much higher position to your handlebars even when sitting in your normal riding position?

I think it does and also think even shorter riders than me (I'm 6'3) will have to start running higher bend bars because if this. Bikes have always had a dip in the center of the seat, late 80's and 90's bikes have the biggest dip in the seat and my 03 KX250 had a noticeable dip in the center of the seat but being so tall I added enough foam to make it flatter like the 05-07 seats.

Thoughts on the ergo evolution of the diminishing seat dip?

The difference is being made up somewhere else. Seats are flatter but not higher. Check out how low the gas cap is on that Beta compared to the top clamp.

It's an off road bike. Who sits when riding trails? I'm standing up 99.5% of the time.

You're saying that because you do something it must mean that everyone does the same thing?

It's a "me" world these days.

I know what you mean. I've been riding Yamaha's for years and you kind of sit in them. I bought a 2019 CRF450 from a mate and put 2 races on it before I bought a 21 yz450. I just couldn't gel with sitting on top of the bike instead of in it

Back on topic, nice bike OP, a guy I go riding with has the 200 and loves it

I had an opportunity to ride the 200 at a local race track for a couple laps. this bike had all the upgrades including the lucky fork cartridges. The suspension was butter. the bike handles great, but the power was set up for woods, not moto.
I ride a 350 SXF, so of course it felt a bit restricted in comparison. I told the owner it would be fun to put my RM125 engine in the chassis to see what it would do. I guess J.T.Hagerty will know very soon! The Beta's are beautiful to see up close BTW.

Did you adjust the power valve to change the hit? I believe all the Beta 2T's are adjustable with the turn of a screw. (250 and 300 for sure are, images look like the 125 & 200 are as well but could be wrong)

I adjusted the PV on my 125. It's design looks identical to the KTM/Husky system. When I first rode the bike it was smooth, I like the bike to have a pretty good hit in the mid-range. I adjusted it about half a turn and it's almost perfect now.

For those of you looking for a ride report here ya go.....

I rode a local, old school time keeping enduro yesterday. I had around half an hour of ride time on the bike before the race started, the only mods I did to it was change bars and put hand guards on it. The bike worked better than I expected, I think the suspension worked better than the WP stuff that was on my TE. The motor has more torque than any other 125 I have ridden, it will chug.

I have a couple complaints about the bike though. The stock tires are JUNK and it's very easy to hit neutral. Luckily I never hit neutral when it would really hurt me (like going up a bike hill). I have new tires and I'm going to adjust the shifter, maybe I'm not pressing down on it far enough when I down shift.

All in all the bike is great and I am very happy with my purchase. I was originally afraid I was making a mistake going back to a 125. Ended up second with no time on the bike and riding one time between last November and now. I think with a little more time on the bike and some tuning, this may be my favorite bike out of the last few that I've owned.

Nice man. Thanks for the report and congrats on the race. How about a follow report with new tires and more seat time? Every year i consider getting another 125 so I'm living vicariously through you.

A small update.

I have around 10 hours on the bike now and I have added the following parts. New Starcross 5 tires, Sclavini pipe with Bud Racing silencer, race harness, Guts racing cover and soft foam, and Mika bars with Cycra hand guards. This bike rips, it is as fast as the 2016 TC 125 that I had. It actually has a little more low end, I'm assuming due to the heavy flywheel. I am super happy with my purchase, the bike feels light, handles great and so far I think it is one of my favorite bikes that I've had so far.

Does look a nice bit of kit, once my 200exc is retired I'm torn between a 250tpi or a 200 beta (will wait for the 2023 tpi though as should have new frame etc I've been told? )

Nice setup. Do you plan to do any MX with it?

Probably some practice days. I'm not really a MX guy, mostly woods and GP's.
