They used to harrow the starts at all the tracks to make them slower/safer but I think they found that they actually got less crashes on the sand starts if they left them a bit firmer. I love those drifting shots you get of riders round the first turn.

yup Anthony 'pass the Boissiere' on a TM. They have this wierd looking thing on a front end loader for backdragging the start 3D. Its not the std bucket though.
