jsdracing on eBay did a 86 CR 250 tank for $165.00, and it looked brand new when I got it back. It was worth the coin to me.

Couldn’t find anything on eBay for jsdracing, is there any other contact info on them?

Try putting in...mx tank restoration, I think that will get you to jsd. The link Skuzzy posted is very legit and that guy can do wonders with anything plastic.

My 87 tank was pretty bad. Wet sand 400 grit-600-800-1000-1500-2000 with soapy water. Did that about 3 times. Then compound wax and then car wax -buffing with orbital car buffer with sheepswool pad. Took me about 15 hours total. (Probably 30 beers.)

Very easy to do....get 400,600,800,1000,1500 grit wet sand paper. Bucket of water, some dish soap, sand in same direction, about an hr for each grit, after you are done with the 1500 grit, it will pretty much shine, I hand buff mine with some ultra fine compound & old t shirt. If you have some deep gouges or scratches you can use 320 grit on those areas only, then proceed to the 400, only go as coarse as needed. I usually do an hr at a time then come back a day or 2 later for the next grit, it is a pita...but something anyone can do...

Everything this man and Rup stated is correct, as I've done both. Best to do these projects in the winter sitting in a warm shop with a fridge full of beer. I've even went as high as 2500 to really get a good shine, same method works great on old classic car trim pieces..... Take your time, it'll turn out great.
