Was stoked that he qualified right in.
Then throwin big whips almost every lap. Good job on the whole trip.
I owe him some money, looked for him in the pits and couldn't find him.
Message me contact info or address.
Don't pay attention to those 2 other clowns, nobody gives a shit about them either, including their moms.

Run it against a 125 4 stroke, then you'll see a real turd.

It was great seeing and hearing you out there Ricky. Congratulations on qualifying, that was a major accomplishment. You were a crowd favorite with the fans cheering you on every lap!

I am kind of bummed John Dowd and Mike Brown got national television coverage for being old in the 450 class, and this 125cc Renner story did not. To me, all three are equally impressive. Renner deserved some TV time.
Agreed. Shame they didn't mention it at all. Makes it clear the level the commentary is directed at. (not criticizing anything, it just shows that the programming is directed at a general audience not hardcore fans).

For the record, Ricky never asked for any money on here or anywhere else. I voluntarily started a couple of the threads and some other people did too. Obviously there are quite a few people who want to see a 125 on the track even if just for having some fun. Enough were willing to vote with their wallets toward a worthy cause to see it.

It was very cool to see and hear the 125 pinned on the track and whipping it flat on the infield table top. The crowd would go crazy when he went by. They cheered more for him than some of the top 10 points guys for sure. You could see people in the crowd asking and talking about the 125 and all excited.

Ricky was definitely a hero at Redbud and in my book. Several asked me where I got my braaap at the bayou shirt.

Great job Ricky!

Next time he rides a two stroke it needs to be a 2011 ktm250sx in the 450 class.
YZ250 in the 450 class would work just as well: just had that discussion with a certain "2-Stroke Expert" at Mammoth...

Are you going to buy it for him? It's all well and great to wish but even 2-strokes cost real money, and a 250SX is not cheap. Besides, Michael Willard already tried to put a 2012 250SX in the show at High Point and didn't make the cut.

Great job this past weekend Ricky...props!

You are getting more fans than I think you even know. I never would have known u existed if not for your SX & Outdoor attempts/success on the 1 2 5.
Your fans demand that you keep on giving a show.
Good luck with whatever you do, but do it on a 2 stroke...ha

Ricky if you were to pick another race (or races) that is left on the schedule to run what would it be?

ps...signed up on this forum just so I could tell ya congrats Smile

I've been a fan of Ricky since 08, he was the only guy to turn around and check how Alessi was doing after Alessi turned himself into a speedbump, wrecking on the ski jump at Redbud.

Great job on the 125, man!

Your post makes it sound like you think the bike has everything to do with making the field. IMO it's almost all rider. The way Blake Baggett rides that 250F leads me to believe he would also run up front on a Pro Circuit KX125. I'm not saying the bike has nothing to do with it, but if you're fast, you're fast.

And Ricky, awesome job at Red Bud! I was cheering for you every lap you went by!

My post sounds like what it was intended to be, a response to a guy who claimed a 250SX in the 450 class would give him a better chance at doing well.

But you made it sound like because Willard tried it and didn't make the field that there was no point for Renner to try the same bike.

Besides the obvious statement about the cost of a 250SX it's actually a personal observation on the riders more than the bike. I know people have short memories but historically Micheal Willard is the better rider and he has been staying sharp racing, even though it hasn't been in the Nationals. Just a few years ago Willard actually did what Renner was trying to do, which is put a 2-stroke 125 into a SX Lites main.

Yep 36th fastest out of the 40 who qualified does not look great on paper, but 36th out of the 10,000 to 100,000s (Sorry I am an Aussie with no idea how many people race in the US lol) of thousands that race MX in the small bore class across America is pretty dam good if you ask me!

He ended up the 34th fastest 250 rider in the country on the weekend! Nice result no matter what bike he was on
Dead on! Some people are so fing stupid. Anyone fast enough to make a pro main is probably in the top 10-15%, in riding ability in the world. Stupid a$$. Also Jay Carpent is a pc of $hit. To hope that a privateer doing it for the love of the sport, breaks down. F him!
