Team USA is looking to get their 250 rider commitment locked in here at Millville and chatter around the pits is it will be a 450 rider dropping down, with these four in consideration.

Which would you take?

Jason Anderson
Chase Sexton
Christian Craig
Justin Barcia

Personally, I'm going with Sexton.

I’d have to agree with your choice of Sexton. Can’t really go wrong with any of them but I think Chase would be the solid choice.

Sexton is the 450 points leader. Doesn't make sense to me but I don't know anything.

Exactly! Matthes already mentioned this on twitter.

Would be an insolence to even suggest to him to ride 250 imho

Why are even Barcia in that picture?

It would be a tough choice between Craig (good starter and a good 250 rider) And Anderson that i belive are a better rider but with some start problems this season. But Barcia? Come on.. Plessinger, Dungey and a whole other bunch of riders should be in front of Barcia..

No matter how they shuffle the deck...we've got a real good hand this year.

Jason on the 250.
Send barcia packing.
He's a lousy choice to represent the United states of America in any way, shape, or form.

Historically, Craig has been average at his very best on a 250 outdoors, even while he was a top guy indoors.

MX1 Tomac
MX2 Barcia
MX3 Sexton

Let Tomac race the best of the best.
Sexton will have the future MX1 races.
Barcia will give his all no question.
He has gotten stronger and more fit, and will be WFO all day long on that 250.
Only question is will the GasGas 250 hold up

I like Barcia too, but I think what we’re missing here is the bikes they’ll be riding. KTMHuskyGas 250s don’t have the greatest track record. I’d vote for someone on a Japanese 250 for that reason alone.

Tomac has to go and be the #1 rider - its literally the only thing he has not accomplished in his career. The race is local here in the US, its Tomac's last year racing outdoors, and he loves the YZ and is completely rejuvenated riding it.

Sexton - has to be our #2 rider, he's super consistent, very fast, very fit, and is blatantly our #2 best 450 rider.

How anyone can justify not taking the top 2 for the 450 riders is beyond explanation.

As for who rides the 250, its debatable for sure and I'm of the opinion that assuming the riders WANT to ride the 250 (which they have said they do), I would be in favor of the following riders in this order:

1) Anderson - dude is super fast and has kept pace with Tomac and Sexton speed wise, he's just had some crashes and incidents that have pushed him back. But his speed has been there at times this year. Plus, I think he wants redemption from the incident from when he won his moto back in 2016.

2) Craig - he's on the fastest 250 bike (The yamaha), he's the most recent rider to ride the 250 bike competitively, and he's been solid riding in the 450 class in terms of speed. I'm certain he would give his every effort.

3) Barcia - He's still fast and we know he's #Merica, especially at Redbud. You know he's going to give you his every effort and he's experienced.

I wouldn't even remotely consider any of our 250F riders from that class, they aren't even close to the speed, consistency, and experience of the above 3.

Barcia or Anderson, they know what mxdn are about. Anderson has a win at recent years mxdn and he will hang it out just as Barcia, afraid of no one. They will need that if they are on 250.

Craig is to anonymous. Neither sexton or Craig turned any heads outdoors on 250. Barcia was an animal on 250.

Better than Craig at Red Bud. Overall not the greatest, but he typically rises to the occasion and rides better in high pressure scenarios, where Craig tends to not be so great, and his best effort the last time he did 250 outdoors was a 10th. Not worth the gamble to me. I'd consider him on a 450 if our other top guys were out

Sexton shouldn't be considered, he's a lock for 450. I like Anderson, and he already said he would drop down if given the chance.

I think the 250 fits Barcia's rev the ever loving shit out of the bike everywhere on the track style. If Tomac and Sexton get top 5 finishes in both of their motos, all we need from Barcia is one top 10 and we will have a good shot at winning. That's not even considering if Tomac or Sexton take some moto wins.

Barcia is the easy 250 pick for me. He’s a beast on a 250 & that bike fits his over revving style! Plus, that dude also bleeds red, white & blue & really puts on at the MXoN’s. He feeds off the pressure & the smell of freedom! 😆🇺🇸

MX1-Tomac or Sexton - whoever the points leader is at the time of selection.
MX2-Jason Anderson. Why? Because, he'd have Stupid Fun; and, we all know how well he does when he's "Smilin' and the jersey is Flyin'! "
MX3-Sexton or Tomac - whoever the points leader is at the time of selection.

I'm guessing that Eli leads the points after today...

So, I'm hopeful that it's gonna go the way I've listed; however, WHERE does Jason's 250 come from? The -ONLY- Kawasaki Motors, LTD "Factory Bike" that I know of is in the Japanese series. Over here, we've got The Monster ProCircuit Kawsakis.

I would LOVE to see Jason on one of Mitch's bikes. Again, that would be Stupid Fun. Anything that is outside the usual "day to day" training and racing life wold be an absolute BLAST for most of these guys at this level.

I think it should come down to what manufacturer has the best 250 so Craig or sexton. I think all of these picks will give similar results on the smaller displacement.

I'd lean towards that team too but Anderson's starts concern me .

They should take Cooper. His speed is improving, starts were great today (even more important at the MXdN) and his YZ‘s the best bike.
