Yamaha is probably the most reliable, doesn't have the air fork (pain to set up) and has the most power besides the Ktm
The Ktm though may have a more likely chance of something going wrong (so much electronics)

Yes i am, they are the lightest bike and have the most power, but they still lack a kickstarter

Only question around Yamaha is electrics and frames, motors seem reliable though. I would go Kawasaki.

At your weight and the fact you will pack on more pounds over the winter since you do not workout , you need more than a 250F. 250 2 stroke probably be best. Say like a mint 2000 CR250.

I rode Honda 2 years then Yamaha for 10. Had a ktm for 6 months some were in there. It was fast but It did not work for me.

Its from a lack of grease in the harness connectors. Take your harness slab dielectric grease in the connectors and bam no problems.

I'd say buy a 350, put a pipe on it, then buy 250 sxf graphics.

Talked to a motor builder about which 250F to get. He said that KTM was the fastest but it has transmission problems. He said the Yamaha is bullet proof and fast, just not as fast as the KTM.

Yamaha and ktm are on top right now. Both great bikes. KTM has air forks (*fart noise*) and the motor makes more power but up top in the power band. The Yamaha makes less power but the power is down low to mid. Its all preference. All the new bikes are good and they all have their problems.

Yamaha, cannot fault it

Sarts first kick after a wash
No play in big end
Front wheel doesn't wash out easy
GYTR power tuner is incredible
