Why was he let go?

Seems like a really great guy, and a proven wrench.

He missed a race because his father passed away, and RV thanked him and paid his condolences on the podium. I haven't heard anymore are you sure he is gone?

From the other board he was let go, and RV wasn't even told about it until after the fact. I'm sure there are 2 sides of the story, but the guy is top notch and something just doesn't seem right.

He was let go last week.

I hear two different stories.

Someone said Jon wasn't a Team player

Several other people said there is a Kawi Mechanic who is a back stabbing control freak and Jon was never given a fair chance to fit in and this same guy has done the same thing at different teams.

All I know is he's a hell of a good Wrench and worked his ass off.

I'm starting to really not like Kawasaki.

I would love it if RV somehow jumped ship and went to another team and won the Championship. But RV seems like the type of guy to not let it get public even if he is mad. I don't know if he is, but I think you get the point.

My guess is we won't hear a lot about why the change was made.

I'd follow that with I don't think there are many guys in this thread who know the reasons why a change was made. But there sure suddenly seems to be a lot of "experts" up in arms here...for what reason, I'm not exactly sure.

I don't know about any wrench stuff, but RV is no longer working with RL right?

John used to be my mechanic when I rode for Pro Circuit in 2004. He's a great guy and I never had any problems with him, and as far as I know, neither did Pro Circuit. I also never heard anything about John not being a "Team Player"!!!

I smell lots of B.S in this story, I would really like to know why this happened!?! I'll have to hear it from John himself....

Not often we see ronron here.

I'm sure Kawi had their reasons if true. I'm sure most people can draw conclusions from financial info.

Since ronron is in this thread. Make a PC motocross game!

not sure what constitutes an "expert" GuyB, but from what i heard and from the source i heard it from, i'm "up in arms" for sure. Total BS move by Fish.

If he's good, someone will pick him up, prolly gonna be JGR. But still can't believe it was Fish.

A rider like Villopoto doesn't "get told" who's wrenching for him.

Just doesn't happen.

Villopoto or his dad didn't like the bike or the setup and someone had to go.

That's moto.

Back in the day when Jbone took David Kelley's spot as Bubba's wrench, I asked David's brother Dean what happened and he told me the big wigs in Japan made the call. Just what I was told, don't know if it's true.

x2 on the on the PC MX game SR, any chance at all on making a new PC game??

So what's up you all ask?
Politics!
Jon got screwed.
Plain & simple.
Kawi's not to blame, a "certain little click is".
Go figure!
They know who they are!
Walking on water seems so easy to them now, but
believe me, what goes around does come back at ya!
It's just a time thing.
Nothing lasts forever.........
I hate to say it, but from past dealings, Jon was out from day 1!
It was in the plan.
RV could do nothing!
Roncada's 100% correct.
Jon does an awesome job, hands down.
Unfortunately he just had 1 done on himself.
Funny how some deals get so "high schoolish"......
He's a "quality guy " & I wish him well.
My time with him at PC was a pleasure, & winning a
Championship was as well.

I love how people think the riders control everything and not the teams
5/12/2009 11:29am
Maybe it just came down to the success was not coming with him and a small change seems to have made a difference. This is not the first time Mike has stepped in a top riders shoes.

RV could do nothing and Kawi's not to blame? How the heck can that be true. Did he get caught drinking Red Bull in public or something?

When a wrench get's hired it's because the rider want's him and they work great together and everyone is super-pumped.

When fired, it's from above by the powers that be and the rider is last to know.

Bridges for sale, today only. I'll make you a great deal!
