So if Tomac is in for the MXoN who else would you pick for Team USA?

Matthes has tweeted saying Tomac is in (https://www.dirtbikerider.com/news/motocross/eli-tomac-gives-answer-on-…) but who should join him?

I expect there'll be a lot of motivated riders wanting to win for Team USA on home soil but who deserves the shot?

Yamaha is dominant right now.. Put as many of them on the track as you can. Some of the riders seem to agree right now.

Tomac, Barcia, Jmart.

I'm picking JMart over AP right now because I think JMart is a consistently better starter. Speed they are pretty equal. I think once Martin hits his stride he will be tough to beat.

I think we have to take each year as it is. He didn't want to go last year. Fine. He didn't go. We all griped. Time to move on.

The focus should be trying to win this year. He's our best 450 rider. He wants to go. He should be on the team. The goal is about winning. It shouldn't be about punishing a rider and ultimately lessening our chances for a win because of something that happened the year before. If you keep looking behind you at the past you will trip on the future ahead of you.

Just my two cents.

Id like to see Barcia on the team as he has been 2nd best American racer this year so far (since Anderson is out) and has done really well in the past for us at MXoN. JMart would be my 250 pick since Osborne is out but AP would be a good pick too. Maybe they should just pick 250 rider based on who wins Red Bud.

Martin will come back and take the title and the mx2 spot, Anderson will come back from injury and catch fire late, securing the MX3 ride.

I think TDeath21's sentiments are because Tomac blew the MXoN invitation off last year....many (including me) saw as a whiney-baby move because things weren't going his way. This year he's looking great...so he's all gung-ho to go. I guess he took his "Patriot Pills" this year or something. Yes, I want Team USA to win...but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth too, that we're placing our only hope it seems on a guy who chose to flip off the invitation to do the same last year.

YMMV

Personally...I'd pick...

The MXdN being on American soil has a lot to do with his decision to race it and I don't fault him for that one bit...

Also you guys who think you're owed seeing Tomac ride for Team USA are hilarious. What about all the legends from back in the day who refused to go? Hannah? O'Mara?

Thomas Covington certainly bears considering when looking at potential MX2 riders, his results have been quite good lately. Between him, Plessy, the Martins, Forkner, and even J Cooper we have several great choices in that class.

Logical MX3 is Barcia, though if Anderson is healed and ready then he's a great choice too. Baggett and Peick are up far enough in the standings to be worth considering.

The guys that don't like Tomac still don't like Tomac, that's just the way it is.

How many races will Anderson have in before the end of the season? 4? Have to see how he is at that point.

The race is in October this year right? Don't contracts go until Sept 30 usually? Barcia is only really an option if he stays with Yamaha for next year.

Baggets starts really scare me. Been waiting for him to catch fire since January, see how the next 2 months work out.

JMart or Plessinger whoever is top of the 250 class, track would be good for either and each can have a good or bad day.

I hoping that’s the case JM was looking good till 14 mins to go. Hopefully Anderson comes back soon . Is he gonna miss redbud for the nationals?Would be good practice for mxon
