Strait from the horse's mouth.

" Big shoe's to fill "........Was kinda hoping he would stick with #23 , he looks good with it.

I watched that interview with him earlier where he said he was taking #7 but was on a don’t talk about it basis with the 250/450 for next year. So with AP taking #7 wouldn’t that mean he will be on a 450 next year? Because if he was to race a 250 and defend the titles he would be #1..... Somebody explain the rules with the numbers better to me lol

Your thinking is correct. But he still gets to secure #7 for the following year. Sort of like Tomac being #1 in motocross this year, but no one can take #3 because he still "owns" it. I thought I heard that he would likely only race the 250 in SX, then hop on the 450 for nationals.

Ahh gotcha. I heard the same thing as well. A few races ago at the post race interviews at Millville or Washougal maybe? One of the two he said that if he won the championship at Budds Creek he would race a 125 at Iron Man. I would love to see that

Aaron said that? Not sure if Yamaha will let him , but gawd dang that would be pretty cool to see him on a 125. He's pretty big for one of those though.

Are we sure Aaron is not just trolling us message board users, saying he wants #7 ? LaughingLaughing

And Monster Energy Yamaha supposedly signed Aaron to be Barcia's teammate next year racing 450's full time.

That was originally the rumor but lately it has been he might just be jumping straight in to the 450 class since Webb will be gone. I believe I heard to expect him on the 450 at Monster Cup, so if he races the 450 there, I would bet he lines up on a 450 at A1.

Since MEC is open class it would be silly to race a 250

In yesterday’s post race presser he stated he was contemplating running the #7 but didn’t sound to me like he had made his mind up for sure one way or the other.

I don't get it...it's just a bunch of nut huggers and haters on either side...

It's just another number....why shouldn't he take it? Not like it's being used , or has been used in quite some time either.

What? I'm talking about a dude who just won a national championship , and is now eligible to receive a single digit number. Haha. Then you come in here and get offended that he " may " take the #7 ? Does this news rub your precious little feathers the wrong way? Run out of Vagasil today there sister?

Try to keep up. Aaron is the person that brought up running the #7.

He's in the group that thinks the #7 should be permanently retired. Nobody else deserves to run that number. All I did was qoute what AP said in his interview. This guy has been a Moran since he joined up here.

Maybe it will bring James out for the last race to score some points so he can keep it.

I doubt he would score a point, cause, you know, the motos are 30 minutes +2.

Keep hope alive! Don't take 7. Nooooooooo. Smile There aren't nearly enough JS7 threads - they will all have to be changed to JS259 and there isn't enough time in the world to do that.

8,9 numbers have been idle for awhile and didn't belong to top MX'ers of all time, so I feel any new champion would go after 5 or 7.

I have no expectation that 5 or 7 will unretire. But I like to see the numbers hang out for a few more years.

Once again, Jeffro overreacts to something and makes odd assumptions.
